Making 200cc mobile pressure washer

Workshop From Scratch

Күн бұрын

I decided to build a completely mobile washer that would be powered by an internal combustion engine and would have tanks, so I would not have to connect the water supply every time.
The washer turned out to be a very mobile machine, I washed two heavily soiled cars on one tank, including a large one, and about 1/4 of the water tank remained. The pressure washer is powerful and can be regulated by the speed of the internal combustion engine
I used biodegradable cleaners for washing the car, it does not harm the environment and plants

You should always avoid running the pump dry in any pressure washer. The water serves as coolant and as lubricant for the pump itself. Running it dry will damage the pump internally and it happens very quickly due to heat and friction. It will make less and less pressure at the nozzle each time it's run dry.
@chriss2050

Yes and more importantly it prevents cavitation since this uses a centrifugal type of pump. Cavitation occurs when the pump has air in the line since air is compressible.

Yes, seems why some use a pulley design in between the engine and pump with an idler pulley engagement for engaging the pump. Let's the engine warm up and/or run without running the water and pump. Also, want to make certain you drain and run some sort of anti-freeze usually with a lubricant if you're in a region that freezes so the pump doesn't crack from the ice expansion if water is present.
@bidders77
@bidders77 3 жыл бұрын
Aye it needs to recycle the water with an unloader when it's running and not being triggered otherwise the pump won't last very long

From Russia, _those were _*_not_*_ heavily-soiled cars_ ;) And, if you have switchable tanks, i'd made the gun switchable too, with two 3-way valves on it (sorta like 5-camera phone, in order to not change ends manually) But overall, i love this concept.

When you said fully mobile I was expecting a pressure washer you can drive around in with remote pressure wands like the airports use for de-icing planes. You sit in a little command cabin that's on a mobile hydraulic lift so you can get the tops of busses and semi trucks and trailers.

Surprisingly, a pressure washer doesn’t use a lot of volume and is usually self priming.
@unknown-eu2io
@unknown-eu2io 3 жыл бұрын
@@cabwaldo the idea is the volume is small but the pressure is (must) be high so the pump needs a lot of water
@cabwaldo
@cabwaldo 3 жыл бұрын
@@unknown-eu2io No... pumps create flow, which have a specific minimum GPM (or other unit of volume) that is required for the pump to not run dry or cavitate. Pressure is created by restriction, therefore a fixed displacement pump will only put out so much volume regardless of what kind of restriction is on the outlet, which is less than a garden hose on household water pressure typically. These are basic principles of high pressure rated hydraulic/fluid pumps.
