Hey Kibitz, in this game you have to manually set up cargo train lines with external cities. Meaning you have to create a train line between your cargo train hubs and the outside rail connexion.

@@capnsteele3365 people in africa and other poorest countries on earth own cars cars are only expensive when the gov raises their price artificially thru all the taxes, fees, expensive parkings, etc you could buy a old japanese car from the 90s thats known to be reliable and convert it to LPG and you wont even feel the cost of it when you sell it because they dont lose on value

@@verner2695 public transport is OP for someone like you who never leaves their big city and has no family/friends and gets the yearly fare tickets that are subsidized into oblivion by car drivers now imagine you have a family of 4 and friends and want to go outside the city or you live outside the big cities (and you dont happen to live 100m from a station) and public transport is only faster when they get their dedicated lanes that can skip car traffic and they serve only a specific group of people and on top of that make driving cars worse because they remove lines for cars (typicaly the dedicated left turns which destroys traffic flow completely and creates traffic jams) "but nevermind if you are american" i live in EU and here all places that are outside big major cities are car centric but we have good zoning so everything is still really close and we have good walkable cities because we dont build cul-de-sacs

CS1 cargo trains are also like that. And yes, their handedness is the same as the roads. Whether the "left-hand traffic" option is enabled or not in map selection applies to every form of transport; road, tram tracks, railways, metro tracks, etc.

I'm just checking my city, Oil and Ores are infinitive, there is a fix ammount of it on the map, but it doesnt decrease. Not sure if it is an option or not. Wood and Fertile land does replenish.

Try setting up huge coal mining areas and then building multiple large coal power plants. That makes millions a month if you connect the power lines up to as many connections as possible.

In Cities Skylines 2 (CS2) the player doesn't control what happens in an industrial area in order to level it up like what happen in CS1. CS2 just has the player place down the building for the industry (chicken farming, some other farming, ore mining, oil, forestry, ...) and then define an area for that instance of the industry. The game fills in what buildings that are inside. Special buildings are used to provide rewards, such as making something more efficient or making citizens happier, when certain conditions are met. They don't cost anything to build. Therefore there isn't a need for an oil drilling rig to operate over water, or any drilling rig at all for the user to place down.

You have to set up cargo rail routes from the station to out of the city for cargo trains to be used

Kibitz you can change the colour of different public transport lines, maybe you wanna keep al tramlines purple(ish), but you can make it a slightly different shade so you can see the routes better

Here's an idea for the next playthrough - Create an actual Utopia. It seems CS2 continues the trend of CS where exploitation is easier than maintaining high standards, imo. Future mods will definitely make it more viable. Lots of issues to sort out still.

They just announced that the train and cargo systems are straight up bugged. Nobody is using any of my cargo systems really at all, maybe 200 tons. It's just bugged right now. And the inter city ones don't get used at all really
