Thank you for the thorough review! I have to ask if things would have gone more smoothly if you’d done a mock up?

Thank you for watching! You are absolutely right. A mock up would have allowed me to work out all the little quirks and changes with this pattern. Thus the final slip would have gone more smoothly. I have done this with past projects and would have been well to do so again ☺️ what can I say - I was feeling daring 😄

Thanks for explaining your process! I think it might be better if you take in a bit from the front side seams to eliminate the underarm gaping. The dart may also be taking up too much fabric. To not have your slips or fitted dresses ride up, instead of using heavier satin, you may want to consider adding more ease through the hips. You’d have to modify the pattern to be more A-line so that on you it hangs straight. That way it’ll be comfortable to wear and you can use lighter fabric.

M'Lady, now that you have had time to wear your slip wtih the correct era of clothing, how do you feel about it? was the crepe back satin the right choice? i know the slips that i wore in the 70s and 80s were made of nylon, and i've really been wanting to make one; so i thought i'd ask how you feel this worked.

Thank you for watching 😊 I love this slip in the heavier satin. I know it isn't a common choice, but I like how the weight feels. It seems to stay down and seems to help lighter fabrics to stay down as well. I have been wearing this slip under most of my dresses lately to be honest. Highly recommend.
