Thanks! Yeah well the slide in the game just boosts your speed momentarily as soon as you tap it. It comes at a stop if you keep holding it down though. To cancel the slide you just jump and it retains some of the momentum in the air.

Well the character code isn't decoupled like that. What you can do is use the controller I've given and integrate your own logic on top of that. If this is gdscript, you might be outta luck.

Good thought, but that could also be inefficient. I think mostly because it would get complicated for things like curved steps, or steps with weird uneven geometry, etc.

Don't get me wrong, godot cant make realistic env so please try another style cause this looks bad else the movement is fire
@johnnobon7 ай бұрын
I dunno about that, it looks good to me. I mean they're abstract demo levels, so it may be a bit weird to see realistic lighting and textures in a floaty void, but apply those effects to a real setting and I think it'd look great. To me it seems like Godot is flexible and has lots of room for customized lighting and shades to help get the look you're going for. It mat not be made to look hyper realistic out of the box like Unreal, but that doesn't mean you should limit yourself when using it.
