The finish came out gorgeous and you couldn't have picked a better shade for the fretboard. It's gonna be so awesome to see this strung up.

The whole guitar looks very light. I'm so curious how well it takes string tension.

Hi, Chris. Can you share any insights into what it's been like working with this different material? For example, I noticed when you were drilling the holes for the tuner screws that you had put some tape on the bit to gauge the depth, but when you started drilling it was just spinning for a sec and then plunged in. Because the plastic needs some heat to build up before it "gives"? (Different from the same operation in wood.) Made me wonder what other differences you've experienced in this build.

@@thomasbreene893 The mistake I made was not to include the pilot holes in the 3D print file. Had I done that, the holes would have had sufficient material to allow the screws to cut threads for purchase for their entire length. Since the headstock isn’t solid (it is basically hollow with a 20% grid infill), the only purchase for each screw is confined to the top layer of material. Not ideal, but I think it will be ok for this build since it is just a prototype. I intend to modify the print file to include the pilot holes. Live and learn!

Personally not my jam, Just couldn't bring myself to trusting a 3D printed guitar for it's stability under tension and UV exposure over time.
