I have the same saw. I replaced that light bulb with an LED bulb. It works great!

This is a great example of why I don’t do much woodworking anymore. Everything you do starts with “ok first we have to square a board. To do that we’ll just walk over to our jointer, then run it through our planer, then our table saw.. now that we have a square board we can start our project!”

Yeah, if you're not into machining stock, woodworking probably isn't for you. It's like saying "I don't drive much anymore. First you have to unlock the car, then get in, turn the key, go to the gas station. Oh and those pedals you have to push and that wheel thing. It's just too much."

I started reinforcing my HF clamps after seeing a video of Paul Sellers doing it to a nearly identical clamp.

That is where I got the idea from. Those clamps are great once they are beefed up a bit.

Have you had a chance to try thee fence with a resaw blade?

I have not put on a dedicated resaw blade yet. I have a 3/16" 4tpi skip tooth blade on there at the moment. That blade works well for the resawing that I do.

It seems like you need a couple thousand dollars work of woodworking tools to be able to make a fence out of a cheap clamp lol. How much is an actual bandsaw fence??

Fences for my bandsaw are no longer readily available. I needed to make my own or take my chances adapting another one. I already had the tools. Why spend money on tools when you can use what you already have? Plus everything I did could be done cheaper with a drill and a second hand jack plane. Presumably, you would already have the band saw.

you realize he didn't buy the tools just to make this fence right? or are you saying he shouldn't use tools he already has for something so simple, but should instead rough it with worse stuff, because it's a simple project? go touch grass dude
