Making A Banned Herbicide (That Turns Frogs Gay)

In this video I will try to make a banned herbicide that turns the frogs gay. Atrazine is a herbicide that is banned in Europe and in this video I will show you the chemistry behind making it. The chemicals needed for this project are ethyl amine, cyanuric chloride and isopropyl amine. At the end I will test the herbicide on unsuspecting plants.

The way you mixed the sodium hydroxide made me nervous. Be careful doing it that way, it can runaway.
@davidestabrook5367
@davidestabrook5367 19 күн бұрын
Use a plastic beaker, add the water first, then the sodium hydroxide in portions, and wear gloves and a respirator. The problem with using a glass beaker and sodium hydroxide first, is the NaOH cakes into a mass, and the temperature gradient damages the glass and can cause it to crack later. You can use glass beaker if you do water first, and magnetic or other stirring, and add very small portions at a time. But you don't want solid NaOH sitting against the glass, because the localised heat spots harm glassware. For the respirator, I like the 3M 7500 series, with the soft silicone gasket and I use cheap pink particulate filters. Without the respirator, making NaOH solution would hurt my lungs, but no problem with the respirator on.

You perfectly produced the ethylamine in the reaction, you just didn't capture any of it. By comparison; would you capture ethanol with 50 degree cooling water and 200 degree vapour blowing past it? But hey, you already knew that, right? Also, video milking 10 minutes out of very basic synth

@@amogusenjoyer Its been a while since I watched a thing about this, but I recall him showing that he had two male sibling frogs, and one of them changed into a female and they procreated. Im not sure if that's "gay", I mean the one frog was no longer a male. Maybe there were more instances where the impacts of atrazine were more obvious, but I remember being _less_ convinced about it after watching it. Im like 90% sure it was a TED talk or something. The dude who did. the study is this very awkward lookin black dude, who ironically I thought was very flamboyantly gay, but it turns out he has a wife and kids. So maybe he got a little too much atrazine himself, lol.
