The only issue is that marine paint is designed to be sacrificial to prevent buildup on hulls. That paint *will* come off over time plus you're soaking in carcinogens and microplastics-the exact same ones we've found to be harming fish.

Will follow what you did but put a slight slope in the floor underneath it. Maybe like 1" over the distance. Think I will use my circular saw to cut 3 or 4 support boards at the angle then plywood over it sorta like a platform for the tub. Minor enough to not be a big deal but enough for it to drain.
@SaisMoon3 жыл бұрын
I tile my first floor bathroom shower, because the original design was to small for tub. However, to help with the slope, I use a window squeegee to push the excess water to the drain

Can you do a video showing how you painted the inside? Or list your supplies how you did it? Do you think that would work to line an larger stock tank for a stock tank pool?
@thegreenworkbench4 жыл бұрын
The paint I used are linked in the description. It's important to prep the metal first. Clean with thinner or isopropyl and then sand with steel wool before and between coats. The cans have instructions on them as well. As for using to line a stock tank, I don't think the paint is meant to be constantly submerged. Permanent under the water line is different stuff.

It's a galvanized water tank for animals to drink from....why line it other than for cosmetic reasons. If you do want it lined, look at liquid pool liners.

Do you think you could do the same with the plastic round ones? The smallest round metal one I can find is 36x36 and that's just slightly too big for my bathroom. 30x30 would be perfect but that size only comes in plastic. My thought would be that since it's meant to be outside in UV light and the cold it should hold up fine being indoors?

Cut out one sheet of the reflective foil insulation to the shape of the bathtub. Use spray adhesive to attach it to the bottom of the tub. Cut out another layer to the shape of the bathtub but only half the length. Spray adhesive to the first layer starting from the back edge. Then do the same thing at only 1/4th the length. The back of the tub will be three layers thick of insulation, 2 in the middle, and one in the front near the drain, giving you a drain slope.

There are three layers of the bubble insulation at the back of the tub, two layers in the middle, one in the front, creating a very slight slope.
@KMF33 жыл бұрын
@@thegreenworkbench I have no idea what that is
@thegreenworkbench3 жыл бұрын
@@KMF3 Sorry. I used reflective bubble insulation on the bottom of the tub to help insulate the tub and I just used the layers to create the slope. You can buy the insulation in rolls. The first layer covers the entire bottom of the tub the second layer covers the back 2/3, and the third layer covers the back one quarter. The bubble insulation provides padding between the tub and the floor, keeps the water warmer longer, and creates the slope. I hope that helps.

The sad state of youtube is that you get buried in the algorithm if you don't get constant views and you don't get constant views without sensationalism. Take a look at any channel that consistently puts half naked girls in the thumbnail and you will see millions of views. Not saying it's good but it's how it is. Without views, channels like this give up and we end up with nothing but the sensationalized channels.
