I'm from India,,, your all tutorials are very comprehensible...my question is,,,, in Cubase 13 are there any 3/4, 7/4....beat samples? or have to create these type of beats. I can't find any suitable 3/4 beat samples in Cubase. Please help me.

I would have to look into that, it’s possible that you have to create from scratch. I might actually do a video on time signatures that I’m not personally used to. Might be fun 😁

Great video, Alice! Do you ever use the Drum Editor for MIDI drums? I really need it because the velocity for all the notes in the piano roll are merged together, making it difficult to adjust only the velocity of a particular drum. But with the Drum Editor, we can click on (for example) the hi hat lane and see the velocities for just the hi hat. Also, I prefer the diamond shapes in the Drum Editor vs the regular MIDI notes in the piano roll. As an FYI to those reading, I went to Edit-->Key Commands, searched for "open drum editor" and mapped it to my tilde key. Or, it can be easily opened from the little dropdown arrow on the "Editor" tab at the bottom of the screen.

I actually don’t. There’s something about putting notes ON the line instead of right after that doesn’t click in my head 😂 You’re definitely right about the velocity though.

Cubase has probably the best stock plugins of all the DAWS I use. Some are so amazing, I wish they were 3rd party ones so I can use them in Bitwig and Reaper

I’ll probably do more videos like this one, not necessarily with the purpose of using everything in one beat, but just creating. I do want to stick to free VSTs or things that you’d have access to on first install. Unless I’d be reviewing a particular VST of course.

Hey Alice, you having any issues with the new mac upgrade, all my vsts and loops cant be located on the right on media, or in media bay. My personal sounds can but the sound banks from cuebase just aint showing. I think its the mac upgrade.

I haven’t updated it yet because my UA plugins gave me a warning for incompatibility. I’ll probably wait a little longer 😅

I tried to use the 'set definition from tempo' setting to change the tempo of my project while keeping all the audio files in sync. I had made a lot of edits but for some reason it bounced a lot of those edits together. Does it not maintain the edits made to the audio?

Did you set your tracks to musical time base? That should prevent events from shifting. I have a video ‘how to keep events in their place after tempo change’ that might help.

@@alicebyno the events didn't shift. When the notification box comes up for that feature it says 'conflicting audio regions will be bounced' and it bounces a lot of the regions together. I had made a lot of fades and edits to those audio clips.

The issue is that by editing, you now have several events that are based on the same audio file. You could render the events in place to create new files. Probably in ‘as separate events’ mode. And then set definition from tempo.

OK it's confirmed, please let all cubase users know NOT to upgrade to the latest Mac upgrade. I can't tell you the amount of problems I have now, to a point that ive had to wipe clean and re instal, thing is even Sonoma doesn't allow content library or download assistant to be installed. As expected Steinberg offers 2 hrs a day to its customers worldwide and I had to beg they logged into my machine. Im not a happy bunny.
