In this video I try to make a better piston engine than the one that channel Reid Captain made in his video. I have nothing against him, just wanted to poke a bit of fun at him for being new to the game and share some of the techniques I use so that maybe people can learn from me.

This is really cool! I was inspired by his videos too and ended up making extremely powerful engines from pistons and hinges. I'm not sure what 25 means on the besiege speedometer but it's about how fast my most recent cars are able to go using piston and steering hinge engines. They also have significant torque, which led me to come up with many alternatives to building methods to keep it from falling apart. Edit 5 months later: they now go 42, and as I discovered it means meters/second

Yea when i saw him play scrap mechanic it was painfull, but he did pretty impressive stuff for somoene who just got the game, even though it was far from being practical or compact.

So, is there any way to work with gears normally? I fucking hate them, they are horible but at the same time is the only way to do transmition

It would be helpful to know what mod you use to make the pistons work so that I can actually build this.

Place a piston and then hover over it and press [f]. this will extend the piston in the editor mode. If this isn't the problem then I'm not quite sure.

what if you vehicle is on an angle? i think timers would negate this flaw.
