The engine shown is not a 240 online 6, it is a small block inline 6. The 240 has a removable intake manifold, the engine has an integral intake manifold.

What do you do with the vacuum advance from the distributor?

I completely expected the results you found, but how about top end?? I'd grab some tools and head to the expressway. Take it up to 75 for a 1/4 to 1/2 mile and pull over and read some plugs.. If they are ok, I'd got back up to about 50 and step into it and make sure it doesn't fall on it's nose looking for passing gear RPMs... So was the intake mouth the same size as the gasket??

Well, It's not a highway car, never got it over 65 so it's not a huge deal. I'll run it and see what the plugs look like. I did jet it so it runs right so it is getting enough fuel. The intake gasket was the same size. It's a secretary car...lol

What about putting a radius at the bottom of the carb, so there isn't that hard transition from the carb to the plenum?

I am currently installing a Holley sniper 1100 and need the spacer you modified, approximately 3 5/16 c to c at the head and 1 3/4 inlet hole, and 2 3/4 c to c at the carb and 1.430 outlet hole can you provide me a source for that spacer ?

Maybe its a larger 250 ford small inline six, but not the large six truck engine 240, with the distributor in the midlee of the block, and 240 have remobable intake manifold 250 its the last small inline six, Or are you confused with the first falcon-type six, the 144, which has a displacement of 2.4 liters?
