Making a children's size backpack

Hey Folks! We are back this time with a video on using our pattern to make a child's size backpack. My son was 7 when I made him his first of these and now he is almost 10... I have made him new ones every year because I change the theme, but the pattern has remained the same and fits him great.

i know this is an older video, but I have to comment again on the start/stop point for visible seams - for the most professional looking result the start/stop point should be in the least noticeable place - on this one, the BOTTOM of the pocket - preferably in the middle. For zippers with visible stitching that goes all the way around (like on the pocket here), the start/stop point should be at the "bottom" of the zipper (the ending point when open) - start on one side and immediately stitch across the zipper, then around, and finishing by crossing the end again where you started. I have been sewing since I was 4-5 yrs old (almost 60 now), taught by my grandmother who did custom sewing for others. - appearance is everything with visible stitching!

Me again. I’m doing the smaller purse version of this. Where you went with the grey leather to pad the straps, do you think it’s better with just the oil tan strap for the smaller version.
