Beautiful combat spike, but your videography and video editing are some of the very best on KZbin. Brilliant!

Does the ferric chloride treatment add any rust resistance? That's a really nice build

Thank you for watching. Yes, it does add a little protection...but not a lot though, it will still pick up rust. Best to keep the blade oiled.

Bro I wanted to say that your video have really helped to simply things for me. I made knives as a hobby years ago. When I moved I left a lot behind, I didn’t have my tools so I wasn’t able to create anything. I’ve been slowly building my tool arsenal back up and working on designs again. Your videos deserve more views. The quality is top notch, your skills are impressive, and the music makes it feel like a Michael bay movie! Thanks for sharing your process with everyone. Cheers my friend! Also, I’ve never heard of K460, is that a type of European steel? I wasn’t sure because I saw you also mentioned 5160, don’t know what else to call it haha

Thank you for the kind words. I really appreciate it. Good luck with your future knive builds. Yes, so K460 is made by a Austrian steel company called Bohler-Uddeholm. Their K460 is basically the equivalent of 01 tool steel. They also manufacture N690 which is a specially designed stainless steel for knives...awesome steels to work with, although both are a bit expensive and heat treatment not as straight forward as 5160 high carbon. 5160 is my run of the mill steel to work with, since its a lot cheaper and give decent results. Easy to heat treat as well. Besides that it does need a bit of love and care, it's a good steel to keep around.

Man I really like watching your videos!! This was an awesome knife too!! I have a question so after you draw the design what program do you use to put it on paper and template form?

Thank you, appreciate it. I use Adobe Indesign to draw my templates, create pdf files from there and then print it.

No crossguard = no fingers after first stab, so better not use it for combat :) Apart from that very cool

@@zeemanknives Pepper spray, strong hands for fightling or strong legs for runing away. Knife for combat is worst posible choice... If someone wants to just rob or beat you, if you show them your knife they will go into survival mode and will want to kill you. Still very cool knife ;)
