Better way of attaching that is your last loops on one side go through the other side so you would attach it by using either the beige or the blue to the other by putting it through the last loop on one side you wouldn't have to sow together

If you pull the inside out of the paracord first. Soak it in water and then iron it flat it turns out a lot better. It's thinner and more ergonomic

Would I just double the lengths if I wanted to make the whole thing out of 275?
@BlindRambler3 жыл бұрын
A thinner spike seems like it would be more consistent. You don't want to open too far, the knotters tool is a bit of a steep angle imo. Though it gets the point across. I love making these projects myself. I've been considering this specific one but in micro and nano cords. Just to make it even more minimal.

@@TheWeaversofEternity Hey I know I'm coming a little late to this but do you know the amount of cord one would use if it was gutted? I tried doing the math using your video on the wallet band which you had 2 feet per inch of weave and it looked about half the width of a card so if i doubled it in width I would just use 4 feet per inch then for a card roughly 3 and quarter inches use about 16 feet just to be safe? Thanks!

this wallet looks awesome and i couldn't wait to try it. after starting, i found 9 loops was not wide enough for a card (idk why), so i tried it with 12 to start and i cant seem to get the first set of knots to look nice, they're all getting jumbled up and not laying right. is it because the first whipping knot is too tight? been an hour so far and started over about 6 times. This one is definitely not working out for me right now.
@TheWeaversofEternity5 жыл бұрын
Not sure why that is happening to you, perhaps try tying the whipping knot exactly as I'm doing it in the video. I found that when I started my second panel I was winding the whipping not towards myself instead of away and somehow that messed me up and I wasn't able to make the right size. The whipping knot should be firmed up, but it doesn't have to be overly tight.
@night23fox5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for taking the time to reply! I was trying to snug it up just enough to keep its shape, but not too loose to unroll itself, because i didnt want it too tight to turn on itself when starting the knots. And the cord im using for the back is from paracord planet i believe, a dark gray color. Going to use an ocean blue for the front. Ill keep at it and see how it goes. I think i may have started it too tight. I know i (and maybe others) wouldve liked to see how big the base whipping knot was compared to a card, but i added a few loops just in case cause 9 didnt look like enough. Trial and error for a new project as usual. Regardless, geat video as always and i look forward to the next one.

Im using 20 feet (550) of cord but the cord isnt long enough to finish half of a pannel.... could it be that my knots just arent tight enough?
@loganleisure77495 жыл бұрын
I even started over and tried tying my knots tighter and it didn't work....
@TheWeaversofEternity5 жыл бұрын
It could be the kind of paracord you are using as well. The measurements I put in the video are always approximations which is why I put (approximately) next to it. The amount of cord needed can change as not all manufacturers make paracord the same and they can have varying elasticity. For the wallet you see in the video, I started with 15 ft and had to "graft" on an extra 5 ft or so by joining a new piece to my working end because I didn't want to restart. This might be an option for you if your cord is a darker color and you don't mind seeing the melted joint.
@crazyedmagic5 жыл бұрын
how much paracord would you need if you made this out of 275?
@tomiojala46894 жыл бұрын
550 is about 1,68 times the size of 275 so you could try multiplying the lengths needed for 550 by 1,7 and do 15-16 knots x 41 knots instead of the 9 x 24 Tim did with his 550. I have not tried this and I don`t have 275 so haven`t tried it but based on maths this should work, But I can also be wrong so take the risk only if you are ready to fail.

Mathematically I figured out how to Make a standard bifold wallet as far as the number of loops and rows for the outer panel and the 2 panels on the inside ( 2 panels so you can fold it like a wallet and still remain Around 1.5 inches thick empty without gutting the cord) before breaking it in and making it sit thinner of course. ( Based off of my personal wallet

Measurements are at 0:37 of video and in the pinned comment. Use more than what I suggest if you have any fear of running short. It will vary depending on the paracord and how tight you tie the knots.
