Be nice to yourself. Your explanation of how you put the back together works, and makes sense. We are fine with the missing stuff. We have all done things that we then beat ourselves up about. Don't let it haunt you. (Says the woman who still brings up my lovely angora sweater that I had to get rid of because my sister was allergic! It was the 1960's after all I should let it go!) Ok do as I say not as I do! lol! Also good to see you back. I had been wondering how you were. As for your budget you did great. The pattern is forever so similar to the sewing machine and all your knowledge! Not sure about there but in Canada and the US you can find almost anything in a thrift shop. Most of my sewing rules and patterns have come from there. Took years but I did find a ham. It's truly amazing what turns up in thrift!

Thank you! Oh no, RIP the angora sweater 😭 It's good to be back! I recently started a new job and it's been great fun, but has been taking up all my time and energy. So now I'm in a bit more of a rhythm with it I'm hoping to get back to regular(ish) videos 🥰 It's a real mixed bag here. Individual charity shops are quite small, so if you're looking for something specific you do have to go on a bit of a hunt, but you can find some real gems if you're patient! I'd love to go to a proper huge thrift store like the kind I see in American/Canadian youtubers' videos 😍

@@sadiebelcreations the large for profit thrift stores are nice in that they will sell anything. So ripped old fur coats and tattered wool blankets which is great when you want to use them as fabric. So you never know what you will find

Well, that was absolutely charming and informative! Showing the challenges and solutions you came up with while using cable ties will no doubt take the uncertainty out of them for some people. Lots of KZbinrs say you can use them instead of synthetic whale bone (sort-of offhandedly, to be honest), but you chose to actually do it, and illustrate how beautiful the final result can be. Excellent stuff! Oh, and a special request: can you please do a video about your gorgeous sewing machine?! It's AMAZING! This was a wonderful slice of Cozy Chaos, if ever I saw one!

Thank you so much! I'm really glad it was helpful 😄 I would absolutely love to do a video about my machine - she is a beauty 😍 What sort of thing would you want in a video like that? A more instructional video on how to use it, or just a general "look at this beautiful thing" kind of deal?
@DavidCollinsRivera

@@sadiebelcreations Do we have to choose? Can't we get some beautiful pinup shots, along with its story (where it came from, who made it, how you got it, etc.), and how you make it function. Your stitches on the stays/corset were just gorgeous, so you've clearly mastered using it. It would be great to hear your views, too, on how sewing with it contrasts with using a modern machine -- that is, the pros and cons.

It looks fabulous; really well fitted. Would you be willing to make a tutorial on using that shuttle bobbin? My old machine has the same type and I'm the kind of learner who needs to be walked through all the steps.

Absolutely! I've already had one request in the comments for a video about my old machine so it seems like it would be a helpful one to make 😄 It may not be the next video, but I'll certainly make it a high priority!

Honestly if you hadn’t of said anything about the lost footage I wouldn’t have noticed. The video was awesome and I enjoyed it. You are too hard on yourself. The corset is also amazing. I have had the pattern on my Amazon wish list for ages and I swear every time I look at it it’s more expensive. I should just take the plunge but I have serious doubts it will fit and I will end up doing so many changes that buying it would have been pointless. But I also know I’ll never take the time to try and draft one from scratch 😂.

Thank you 🥰 Yeah, I had to buy both size patterns in the end because of the difference between my usual size and the measurements, and that kind of stuff does add up 😬 But it's definitely a nice base pattern for alterations or other projects 😄

Always great seeing some more of your cosy chaos. This project turned out wonderfully, and I think the hand sewn eyelets really elevate it. Now you have the pattern and all those extra cable ties, if you make another one it'll be way under budget. I'm also low key obsessed with your rainbow coloured thread, btw. Here's to more fun videos from you, don't worry about like the missing footage as everyone relates and you did a great job explaining. Also, some mistakes are a great learning experience.

Thank you so much! I really do prefer the look of a hand sewn eyelet 👌 Yes!! The rainbow thread is great! It came in a big multipack of thread spools, and I think it's meant just for basting, but I'm tempted to use it for topstitching in a project some time 😄

That was so much fun to watch! Thank you😊 I'm really glad to have found your chanel. I recently got my hands on an old singer and had to do quite some cleaning, so I was marveling at yours. Thank you so much, I'm so glad 🥰 I love my hand turned machine ... there's just something so therapeutic about that wonderful clickety-clack sound! Yes! I've had no end of issues with those tyres ... My current one is actually a bit too big, but all the other ones I've had have snapped after a few hours of use so the big one functions well enough for now.
