For winter dresses my preference is for a fully lined bodice ... warmer and the facing always stays in place. I do this by cutting the entire bodice out in the lining , for corduroy I would use a smooth fabric lining .

It looks nice and comfortable. If I may suggest, make sure that the size of your seam allowances reflect the density and the weight of the fabric you are sewing. I fear that if you relied on the strength of your first seam in the French seam it would fall apart. There's just not enough there to hold the seam of such a weighty fabric. Loved the color and it should be really warm. It's the darn wind that we have to worry about.

The seams that held the most weight and got the most strain weren’t done with a French seam! Instead they were bound with bias tape. It’s held up very well the past few years!

Oh man, I felt your pain while you were feeding those gathered cuffs through the machine. That sort of thing is always so fiddly but with the added challenge of using such a THICC fabric? Not fun! The dress turned out great though, so your efforts definitely paid off!

Thanks for the video. How much corduroy fabric did you use for this dress?
