Oh, hey! I think that viewer was me! This tutorial did a great job of covering all the use cases I can think of. Thank you so much for making it!

No problem Andrew. I didn't want to name drop when I hadn't asked permission but hopefully that helped 😁

@@ArtisansofVaul I appreciate the thoughtfulness! As a side question I've been running into lately, I've found that Blender has started slowing down when working on my project file (I didn't think it was _that_ complicated compared to what some people do). Things like opening Everscroll or selecting objects take a few seconds to perform. No object has more than a dozen cutters and I don't think there are more than 200 total objects in the scene. Is that expected behavior for Blender, or is it likely I did something weird?

again amazingly useful information right off the bat (start in the middle) 👍

@@ArtisansofVaul I may be updating my 3d printing book in the next year to version 2 and I may want to add/update new useful resources to this addition as the old list aged out.. like the 3rd party apps that can be used to make and edit objects and KZbin channels that specifically help. Would you be interested in something like that?

@Jon T Totally. Sharing the knowledge is what it's all about in my opinion so happy to take part.

I also found that if you have a sample cut, you can just doubleclick somewhere and it will create the same exact cut where your mouse is. So you don't have to click and drag. Something like that, I was just testing again, I think you have to drag just a little and double click.

Great comment. You should be able to double click as you say (or it may be triple click depending on settings I can't check as I'm not at my computer right now)

I've been trying to use BoxCutter and I've found that many actions on Blender 3.3 or newer have such poor UI latency that the tool is nigh unusable. Like "Blender UI hardlock" unusable. It's worst when I'm trying to make small modifications to models that I had to import as a STL. Should I just be decimating or ensuring the triangle count is below a value that "makes sense" for my hardware (which is not underpowered, being a Ryzen 5800x, 64GB of RAM, etc). Most blender performance videos focus on final render and baking, which makes trying to troubleshoot live edit hard.

Hmm... I've had a pretty high vertex count and not had issues l unless I'd made something mad. How high are you talking? I will say that if you want to move the object it can slow it down but that's a Blender thing, not boxcutter itself. I normally just hide the other object and then move it.
