Can I change the stroke thickness and color?
@ArtisansofVaul8 сағат бұрын
@christopherwilliams3293 This isn't that sort of pen. It created curves so you can change the thickness in the normal way (int he curve data properties) or you can do some funky things with the drop-off for the ends in a similar way or using Geometry Nodes.
@christopherwilliams32937 сағат бұрын
@@ArtisansofVaul Yeah, I'm aware of the grease pencil way, which that's what my AI tool told me about. But it would be nice if I can do those things with the regular curve pen. But, with that said, I just imported an image, lowered the opacity of that image, and I was able to trace that image with the very thin and black stroke without too much trouble. BTW, if anyone else runs across this comment, my AI tool said that I can change the theme in the settings, which would be away of changing the stroke color if having a black stroke pen on an image with black curves is too much to work with.

Just in case anyone has the same issue as me. I did this tutorial, sent to my slicer multiple walls, pressed auto arrange on my plate, and it took apart the mesh and placed each brick individually. Ctrl J to join like in the video does not work, with the newest Orca version anyways, you must use Bool Tool or Boolean modifier to union all of the pieces so it is truly 1 single mesh.
@ArtisansofVaul7 сағат бұрын
@Jayy8Bit The part at 13.25 talks about using bool tool. Admittedly I said "join" for using the boolean which wasn't the best choice of wording but all of the tools and controls being spoken about there are to complete a boolean.

As someone who recently got into learning Blender, I find strength in learning both programs. One polygon modeling program and 1 nurbs program. I've mainly been working on modeling starwars styled props/ vehicles so I havent had the need to create many complex curves. But I can feel myself slow down significantly when I try to model more complex curved shapes like those seen on a car. I'm not very good at plasticity yet but I see the appeal of getting good at several different programs while I'm learning modeling from the ground up anyways. And pixel fondue has opened my eyes to more complex and specific shapes that can be made much easier in plasticity. Fusion 360 also looks like a lot of fun, but the price is a bit steep. I'm still a student and many of these CAD programs come with the school license, maya 3dsmax etc but I like having tools that I can use even once I'm done with school. BTW thank you for the radial array geo node, I have been using it a lot recently

I'm loving the geometry nodes content. I think I'd put the wheels in a collection instead of duplication/join, and put the setup on a new second object that references instead. But I can use it as-is by just copying/joining the collection on the new object instead, as a preceding node. The advantage is that it's nondestructive, which I'm really into right now.

No AI has not kill sculpting... Sculpting is an art process that encompasses soooooo many more skills, processes, techniques and above all soul imput that AI cannot.. AI would need to feel love, pain and all the emotions a human with a beating heart possesses to be as a true sculptor..AI can emulate it cannot sculpt.. it is a useful tool but it is a tool....
@ArtisansofVaul4 күн бұрын
I think it depends on your definition of "sculpting", though I don't disagree on anything you have been said to be clear. If you mean creating something from scratch with a distinctive style I think you're right but in 3D design terms "sculpting" generally means the creation of an object and if that is mimicking something that already exists it seems to be getting pretty capable of doing so.
