The length of the process, experimentation, and satisfaction in the solutions to unintentional happenings is so important. We need to find pride in our work when it doesn’t necessarily meet our vision. Sometimes it doesn’t need to be perfect, it just needs to be done. The joy is in the creation not the perfection.

Her outfit is adorable! And her face is very sweet. I thinks whats throwing you off about the hair is the color. She is wearing all these really warm natural colors and so the vivid purple hair sticks out a bit. Perhaps if she had at least one other purple accessory it would help balance it out. Like if maybe the petticoat or buttons were purple.

thank you! and you're right, i basically used secondary colors i could find for her and i just thought making the hair and the hair only purple would balance the overall look but it ended up making the doll look a bit off lol

This doll reminded me of the cuteness of Cko from an anime. called Project Ako. Strongly recommend especially " Project Ako 2 : The plot of Daitokuji Financial Group. Early 90's anime but was literally Lbgtq plus awakening! Bko's father is 100% a gay man in the closet who doesn't hide it well when he names his mech bots after classic film Actresses and his battle armor looks like he raided a rocky horror cosplayer's closet lol! Another reason i recommend is you might get some inspiration from the film especially the alien characters, and another character called Maude. I really liked this doll! Although she was a bit of a trouble maker especially with the body she turned out looking amazing!

thank you for the tip. i've never used acrylic medium so i don't know the difference it would make but then again we're painting plastic here. i feel like no matter how good the quality of your paint or the medium you choose, the paint will gets scratched off no matter what

honestly i don't think the petticoat turned out that well, it's just 5 layers of rectangular white tulle that i sewed together with an elastic and closed the back seams. you can try to look other doll artists that do lolita characters, i'm sure they show more how to make a petticoat though i forgot who...
