Alec I was a machinist for 40 yrs. 34 were at Domino sugar who was owned by Tate&Lyle a few years ago. We were considered inside/outside machinist, We would go out in the refinery see what was wrong with equipment have the mechanic pull it out and we would make new parts and reassemble equipment. One minute we would be swinging a 30 pounder, pouring babbitt bearings and 10 minutes later machining a piece of 17-4 s.s. I've been watching you for a while now and I have always taken pride in my craftsmanship and pride in my work. It makes my heart feel good to see a young man who works the way you do and will not consider ( that's close enough). Thank you and I follow you nightly keep up the good work.

How you maintain such high levels of energy I will never know. But you channel is great! Very fun to watch. No clue how you manage to put out a new video daily. For me once every other week is already a ton of a work. Keep up the great work!

The music and editing make this the most entertaining channel for blacksmithing I've seen. I've never worked with metal or been near a shop, but these videos make me want to try.

I've never seen anyone so excited about making a golf club. (Granted, this is the first golf club I've ever seen being made) I'm hoping that someday I'll have a job that I can be as excited about as you are with blacksmithing.

This is what I love about this channel, and kind of miss with the newer videos- all of the explanation of why you are doing each thing you are doing, as opposed to slow-mo artistic shots and no description of why or how the smithing technique us being done.

12:08 made me remember of my friend's shop. When something is stuck or needs some force we usually say that we're going to find a way , and then there is this hammer labeled "a way" on the tool board.

My favorite quote is, "We have no problem so large or so small that it can't be solved with the proper application of explosives or force" Just substitute A HAMMER for "explosives or force" and you have a blacksmith's proverb.

To go along with your Golden Spatula, you should consider doing a set of grilling tongs, and then a set of utensils (forks, knives, spoon, etc.) It would really test your fine motor skills and detail work, plus you'd get a *really* nice set of utensils. Either out of stainless or copper.
