I do like the concept of diabolical contracts, however, I don't like the idea of just giving up your soul outright for something material. No one would ever make such a deal. I like the versions when devils ask for the performing of seemingly innocent acts which end up destroying the lives of many people. You don't become damned right away, but you are lead down a path of evil which eventually results in damnation.

I think people would be incredibly willing to sell their soul for something material. People already sell things just as abstract all the time. Do you know how much of your life you've probably given up to work just to survive? Let alone to gain material luxuries? I think humans have a hard time conceptualizing most things beyond the material world. It's why we often described heaven and hell in terms of things that we've seen (humans with wings, eyes, fire, etc).

Johann Sebastian Bach, one of the greatest and most famous composers of church music, used it in an aria from the cantata no. 54, as a harmonically descriptive device. The lyrics read "Do not let Satan Blind You, since profaning the glory of God brings about a deadly curse". The way Bach set this to music was by ending the phrase (in 2 separate instances) on tritones - and it sounds really cool. Bach was a freaking genius.

@@absurdemtiefer1950 there's (practically, i've never encountered one) no such thing as a diminshed third, a tritone is a diminished fifth (C Gb) or an augmented fourth (C F#) a "pure" tritone refers to different tuning systems which honestly doesn't matter or make much sense anyway, for it to be truly "pure" it would need to be the exact tone from the harmonic series and that isn't the most practical when there's more than 2 notes played at a time because it would only be perfect in relation to one note and the rest would clash with it

Loook !You must chceck if you are alone, have a little time and peace, and if no one is able to interrupt you for the next half hour. 2. You have to think what you want from Master and consider if you really want it. Define your desires, what you need for happiness. 3. Calm down, meditate for a moment, turn off the lights and light a candle. 4. Say the words of the invocation aloud: In nomine Dei nostri Satanas Luciferi excelsi! In the name of Satan, Ruler of the earth, King of the world, I command the forces of Darkness to endow me with their Hellish power! Open the gates of Hell wide and come out of the abyss to welcome me as your brother (sister) and friend! Give me the satisfaction I'm talking about! (you do not have to scream, whisper is enough, but speak it with the greatest conviction and trust for the Master) 5. After that, get up and, determining in advance where the direction of the world is, bow down to each side of the world, which symbolizes each hellish Prince of this part of the universe. At each bow, say their names with due reverence and respect: in the north BELIAL west - LEWIATAN noon - SATAN east - LUCIFER Offer your obeisances counterclockwise. 6. Go back to the card, write on it what you had to say before. 7. Burn the symbol of the previous worship in the candle. It is a purification, a very important element. You must undergo purification if you want to accept the Master. 8. Now I am giving you a formula, you can get carried away later and write whatever you want to the Master (but with respect, of course) but what he will write now is quite important: the eternity of God, his Son, the Holy Spirit and everything that connects me with them. I renounce baptism and the fact that Jesus is a savior. I question all of his divinity, love, power and sovereignty. At the same time, I humbly ask You, Master, to take me into Your Kingdom. As a sign that my intentions are sincere and thoughtful, I want to make a pact with you. There will be a covenant between you and me. I put my soul at your disposal, you will give me what I ask for and I will be your faithful servant forever. You know what is best for me and how to lead me to divinity, so rule my soul and make my life better. I give you my soul for: 9. Tuta you exchange what you want from the Master. It can be money, power, fame, you can also break up and write yourself.By all the Gods of Hell - I order the things that I am talking about to happen! Come out and answer the summons by fulfilling my wishes! 11. You sign your name and surname, and draw a beautiful pentagram next to your surname. 12. You take a needle or a razor blade, you pierce the skin so that there is blood. I remind you that these tools are to be sterile and when you finish the ritual, rinse the place with hydrogen peroxide and apply a dressing or something. There is not a lot of blood, just a drop on the name and a drop on the pentagram. This is no self-mutilation, you can gently pierce the pad with a pin. You can skip that too, it should be okay too, but still blood magic is very strong. I do not persuade. 13. You complete the hackneyed Ave Satan ritual. This is REAL !!!!!!!!WORKS

I like to believe in this allegorically. You may have achieved the goal but at what cost? Torn & broken relationships, your health, etc. I feel like if this was literal, a lot of people would be selling their souls.

I also view it allegorically but see it more in the sense of doing something immoral for a material reward. For example someone who robs a bank might think they’ve hit the jackpot. But all they’ve done is sell their soul for temporary material reward. They will never appreciate that money as much as someone who worked for it and they won’t even be able to enjoy it because they will live with the ever present guilt that they didn’t earn it. The victim of a robbery can make that money back but the thief suffers permanent damage to his soul.

In most stories he uses his music to lure children into the river to drown them, but in others he tempts musicians by promising to teach them his songs. He will teach you 7 songs, the first 6 supernatural in beauty, but the seventh must never be played. Naturally the seventh is always played and when the musician has begun he cannot stop. Likewise the dancers cannot either, the whole party dancing till their flesh and bones are ground to dust and nothing but skulls bounce around the doomed musician. He said that no outcome is ever 100% guaranteed, but never making important decisions, never taking risks, will always leave you with the regret of not knowing. You’re alive, but you’re not living. Sometimes, as long as the probability of success is relatively high, you still need to take that leap of faith. Even if things don’t work out the way you hoped, you at least took control of your own life.

In Poland, it's the story of Master Twardowski that made deal with the devil. He promised his soul to the dark lord when he will be in Rome. To Twardowski's bad luck, it comes out that one tavern he stopped in on his voyages across Poland was called Rome. It ends with Twardowski outwitting the demon in some way as they fly to hell, so he drops him on the moon.

Paganini actually seems to have been a pretty good guy, and at the very least he was a great father. During his concert tours, he always brought his son Achille with him, and I read when Achille became extremely ill, Niccolo spent weeks at his bedside uninterrupted while he recovered, possibly at the expense of his career (I forget where I found that information though). Also, he was pretty supportive of other composers, like Hector Berlioz and Gioachino Rossini. And if you listen to Paganini's own compositions, a lot of his music is quite sweet and pure in character. Far from demonic, I would say.

It would feel like a profound emptiness, like something vital has been ripped away, leaving a hollow shell behind. You’d move through life disconnected, as if you’re watching everything from a distance but never truly part of it. Joy, anger, love all the things that make you feel alive would be muted or gone entirely. The world might seem dull, its colors faded, its sounds muffled. You’d try to grasp for meaning, for purpose, but it would slip through your fingers like smoke. It’s not pain it’s the absence of it. The absence of everything that makes you who you are. A quiet, relentless void that you can’t escape, no matter how hard you try.

I've heard a tale about the Frauenkirche in München. Apparently, the builder was running out of money and asked a demon for help to build it. The demon's condition was that the church couldn't have any windows. Once the church had been built, the demon came to check if the builder had upheld his side of the bargain and walked in. From the position he was standing, it seemed that the builder had done exactly as he'd asked, but when the demon stepped further into the church, he noticed that the columns had just been obscuring the windows and he stamped his foot in rage, before turning into a strong wind and trying to blow the church down, which didn't work. And now if you visit the church, you can see the black foot-shaped dent in the floor where the demon had stomped, and the area around the church remains very windy to this day. There are some variations in the details, but this version is my favourite. If you're interested: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frauenkirche,_Munich#Teufelstritt,_or_Devil's_Footstep_and_perpetual_wind

Great video! But one more thing I was hoping you'd mention in your discussion of the origins of this idea: The belief that humanity as a whole was indebted to the devil from when Adam and Eve left paradise on, right up to when Christ offered himself up as a ransom at the cross was a key part of Christian theology from the very beginning. Devin Singh's 'Divine Currency - The Theological Power of Money in the West' does a good job of clarifying how that came about in detail

Bingo ! I thought I was the only one who think like this. People get scared of ghosts and I'm like ,well that's proof that human being have souls and when we die our souls separate from our bodies. By that logic if humans souls are a real (ghosts) that means God is real also. As they is no practical reason why souls exist except to help "transport" people to heaven or hell when they die. And heaven & hell are places created by God. Thus God exist, not in theory but actual reality. But this is an uncomfortable truth for some people to acknowledge ☹️ P.s I had an experience when I was a child. This experience was with something that was dark and evil. That experience changed the way I see religion. Because if what I experienced as a child really happened then without a shadow of doubt God exist. Because demons if God doesn't exist, the say way hot water can't exist without cold water existing.
@NowIknow243452 жыл бұрын
@@dontbefatuousjeffrey2494 I think there are 3 "places" that exist where souls go to. Heaven, hell & earth. The souls on earth are the ones we call "ghosts". Those are the souls that refuse to move on from Earth for different reasons. Reasons such as; - they don't believe they are dead - they don't want to leave their loved ones. Hence why family members are the ones who most likely to experience hauntings - they don't want be dead. They know they are dead but they feel that their death was too early. So they spend their time on earth haunting people to mess with them. Because they are upset that they died too soon. These are were all the scary haunting stories we hear about in paranormal reality tv and movies like the Conjuring. Here is the plot twist.... In addition to earth, heaven and hell they are other alternative universes that exist. With other "beings" who are not human. These "beings sometimes visit our earth (e.g UFOs) and some "beings" choose to stay ( e.g bigfoot). And some "beings" were on earth before we were created by God (e.g dinosaurs).
