Making a Difference: Occupational Therapy at SLU Hospital

April is Occupational Therapy Month. You've probably heard of physical therapy before, but not everyone knows the very important work our occupational therapists do. SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital OTs help people across the lifespan participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. Specifically our therapists work with their patients on activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, grooming), range of motion, strengthening, endurance and cognitive/perceptual skills. Occupational therapy may be needed for people who have faced cancer, neurological issues, traumatic injuries, surgeries, cardiac impairment, and more.
