Oh Debs, I love this brightly colored chapeau! Perhaps Lady Bucknell will embrace the more carefree side of her personality when she dons it. I just love watching you create. I especially enjoy the sewing and I learn so much. I love projects with feathers and think the payoff is high despite their fiddliness! Brilliant to color them with ink. I would never think to do that. 😍✨

At first I 100% thought it was a church hat. Here in the states old black ladies love a wild church hat! But as soon as it was on the doll it clicked and I got it. The feathers really helped. Very cool.

Hello, I think it turned out marvelous in the end, Lady Bucknell wouldn't look out of place at Royal Ascot wearing it, needle stuck fingers are the norm for me when hand sewing, I even manage to jab myself when I'm doing miniature crochet too, those tiny hooks are sharp lol Best wishes from Yorkshire 😊

It's really cute Debra, LOL You just need to use that fabric tac more, to save your fingers. You'll save time and your blood. LOL...I watch "Little Gretchen's Workshop" She hates to sew and uses glue all the time. You might want to see how she makes clothes etc. She's super nice and responds to comments like you do. 🙂

I think it turned out pretty good, for your first attempt. I don’t really sew very good myself. My first attempt, would have turned out the same. I think the instructions, should have been, for you to sew the top, then on to one side of the rim and then attach the two sides together with the iron. Then you should not have been able to see the seem, from the top of the hat. Does that make sense? I hope so. Some women, wear some crazy hats, I have seen some outlandish ones. Lol. I love that you laugh at yourself. At least you try things out, that’s what I do to, I don’t film me though, I’m not that brave. I enjoy all of your videos, they make me smile every time.🤗

Thank Diane ,it’s ok looked better on lady Bucknall 😁.I was thinking about this and thought there must be a better way .yes it does I did wonder if the seam would then be to bulky for the interfacing to stick ???I have seen some and worn some but only at weddings 😂it helps to laugh I just can’t help myself 😂😂.I love to try new things and it’s the best way to learn ….I’m sure you could it’s time more than bravery the process takes forever .😁aww thanks that’s good to know a good chuckle helps us all .😀❤️💕♥️🧡

Now that is a Ascot hat ! .I love it ,it suits her really well ,just use some hairspray to control back feathers and jobs a good un lol. Thank you so much for sharing this, as watching how to save something that maybe was going the wrong way ,is just so helpful for crafting tips ,it's brilliant ,and I think it worked out really well ,don't be so hard on yourself ,its awesome ☺

You're poor fingers, why don't you try a thimble or leather finger protector, they might help. This video is so familiar to me "silk purse out of a sows ear" exactly. Happens a lot. You really need a lot of patience with this tiny craft. Thanks xxx

Fabri Tac is fabulous glue. From experience, always wipe the glue tip off before putting the lid on and put the lid on each time you aren't using the glue.😊

I have found that with the fabric- tac bottles. The cap that comes with the bottle my not stay airtight. BUT...... the screw on caps from plug in air fresheners (we usually toss) fit perfectly on the larger bottles. I use them on tacky glue, 3N1 glue, fabric tac and wood glue bottles. I save the original top for applications, just switch back to the airtight fresheners cap for storage. (the glue isn't cheap, I lost half a bottle to air getting into the glue before I discovered the fresheners cap sealing when not in use)

An old quilters trick for blood spots,just touch the spot to your tongue,your own saliva dissolves your blood spec. Good to know if you do hand quilting which I used to do.
