I changed the inner door handle assembly on my 2010 Sierra HD because it had broke. Every since then....I have a rattle from the inner door handle....sounds about like your rattle. Nice work on that door. You are an inspiration friend. Happy welding and building to ya!

You do amazing awesome work- I have the same issue- I need door(s) on my knapheide replaced ! They are crazy expensive to purchase ! Great job

@anthonybannister3557 at my hourly rate of $75 per hour (which I think is reasonable) I cannot afford to make them...I tried but the time it took was too much....it would be cheaper to buy them than pay my a fair rate

A good really accurate way of cutting sheet steel like that is a steel cutting circular saw. I have a pretty cheap Evolution S185 CCSL and I used it to cut up 8' X 4' sheet of 3mm which is approximately 1/8 of an inch. There are better Steel cutting circular saws Milwaukee so one, Evolution do a heavier duty one and there's cordless options from the usual suspects. I found them a really handy option for ripping sheets. I nearly always learn something useful from your videos. Cheers.

I have the Milwaukee 8" saw and also the Evolution saw...I used to have a Jancy Slugger brand saw of that type but I hated that thing so bad I traded it at a pawn shop for a hammerdrill. Those type circular saws do a nice job on 1/8" plate but the steel I was using on this door is 18ga...the 18ga is extremely thin...I didn't try to cut the 18ga with the saw...I was assuming that it would ripple the edge too much because it's so thin I should have tried the saw on a scrap piece just to see...I'll do that next time I'm goofin with 18ga

Well, I feel like she probably has to threaten you with that mag light at least twice a year.😆 It’s badass that you can just build this door just by looking at it.

Worst thing is there’s no money in it…I built this for a Buddy for the same price as he could buy one from Knapheide and based on the time I had in it I couldn’t afford to do it again…nice to prove that I can do it but the time it took makes it better to just buy one If someone wants something custom and they will pay by the hour it’s fine, but there are not many things that are being massed produced that you can custom build cheaper…

I know what you are saying! It is cheaper nowadays to just buy rather than build. I still choose to build though. But!!! Most I know will and do choose the cheaper route....and with products built to fail for maximum profit.....it's a shitty mess.

I already saw in a reply that you made to a previous comment exactly what I was going to comment. But, here goes; I was thinking the whole video that based on my previous experience, with all the time you had in this door, there’s no way that you could build the door for less than a new factory door costs. Oh well, I’ve set myself up many times to take a beating on my labor too. Great work anyway.
