I like the theme of the book, very cute and fun! Lovely work with the pages, too - the composition of slow stitching with the face and the tags looks great.

Kudos to a fabulous book!! Love it because I have been contemplating making a quiet book for my two grandsons but was stuck how to make the book. You have the perfect solution...I will add my two cents and say I notice that Superman is not included in your superheros but then again my favorite Wonder Woman is not there either!!! Thanks for your inspiration

Thank you! hahaha. I may have to make a Superhero book! That would be a fun topic. Superman, Wonder Woman... I'm sure I can come up with some others.

If I use cotton fabric to make this I'd need to turn the fabric over at the edges and stitch it. Otherwise it will just unravel very quickly. That would be tricky getting the pages the same size. But I'm going to give it a go and see if it works. I might land up with odd pages and a very quirky book. But I don't mind that because it's handmade.

You are completely correct about the cotton fabric and raw edges. They can unravel, so your solution to turn the edges over will give a more durable book. Some stitchers prefer that neat edge, as you mentioned. ❤️ I like both looks, the quirky and the exact, so it's up to you to choose which to create! I think that's what makes these books so unique and exciting to see, the personality of the designer really comes through!

What kind of thread are you using for the binding?
@DanielaMellen2 жыл бұрын
I use the Cotton Perle, but any thread will work. If you use thinner thread (like from a sewing machine spool) you may want to double it and knot it. But, with the amount of stitches, I have found that embroidery floss and cotton perle work well,

WHERE can I get large clips like you used? I cannot find them even on Amazon 🫤 thank you.
@DanielaMellen10 ай бұрын
I think I found those at a Dollar Store - but I think hardware stores or Home Depot type stores will carry that size.

Ok great, thank you! I am enjoying slow stitching so much! It frees me to relax and not worry about being perfect. I love looking back at each little piece Ive created, and learn from my mistakes and successes. Your instruction and creativity inspire me. Thank you Daniella!💖
