There must be a trick for making that first blanket stitch lay properly but I haven't found it yet. I've only done two pages for my book so far so I'm nowhere near this stage! When and how did you add the lace strips between the panels?

Hi Sue yes I think it’s a closely guarded secret with that blanket stitch lol, the lace strips were an afterthought, I was going to do one on camera and was sitting stitching and finished them ! I pinned lace on and did a straight stitch through both the squares and the lace, hope that makes sense 😊

Here's a hint, the first stitch of a blanket/button hole always starts at the top or edge of the fabric and carries on from there. So if you start by putting your needle and thread a bit in from the edge, just do a straight stitch to get the thread to the edge of the fabric. Hope that helps a little.
