Remember to leave the traditional offering of fush and chups out for Johnny on Hagglethorn Eve. Doing so ensures that all your terrain builds are blessed with high detail and whimsy in the coming year.

Great work Seb! The detail on these models is great. I'm impressed that the dry brushing doesnt expose the layer lines

Cheers mate, I really think the Bunnings primer helps to fill in some of those gaps. Also helpfully that these models have such deep detail lines, let's me pile of the dry brush a bit heavier than I would on a smaller model.

Hi Seb, just finished printing out the tavern dungeon level and was putting the pieces together. They almost fit perfectly but there is a gap that is quite visible, between the individual pieces. I was wondering if you had the same and if you glued the pieces together and if you had one how you disguised the gap. Excited for the painting soon, still printing out the other levels! :) Greetz, Oliver

Hey Oliver, When I put mine together I slightly heated up each part with a heat gun so that they would form around each other a little bit better and allow a little bit of give. And I did glue the pieces together for each floor. I have also used some gap filler on different peices to hide any connections that i felt were too obvious. I generally use wood gap : ,they're cheap, easy to apply and can be sanded back if you need to clean them up after the fact. You'll almost always need to clean up print connections, as based in heat, humidity and print settings/materials the plastic can warp

Yer the old ender 3 was tough to get right especially with the cheap(and inconsistent) PLA I was buying. But getting a muuuuch better results now with the new ender 3 V3 se

Great stuff, you deserve more views! Your voice is great for this, giving me soothing Bob Ross vibes. Dscryb should sponsor a video for you, so you can read aloud descriptions of the things you build while we watch it happen, haha.

I’ve had printed terrain nightmares of leaving pieces out in the sun to long especially pla. If the sun warms it up to much it starts to warp
@SebMakesStuff
@SebMakesStuff Жыл бұрын
Ohhhh yer! It's Definitely something to be aware of! I've had it happen on particularly hot summer days. Never too bad, but I could see it going real bad if it was forgotten about in the hot sun. Pla+ does a little bit better than regular pla, but still risky

@@SebMakesStuff yeah this time of year it’s 100 degrees daily for me so even 30 minutes can sometimes be enough lol I was printing tiles for a game and left them out for like 2 by accident forgetting about them and it was really bad

@@SebMakesStuff do any of the hagglethorn pieces require supports when printing?
@SebMakesStuff
@SebMakesStuff Жыл бұрын
@mhume0221 All the hagglethorn stuff I've printed are either support free or have their own little supports built in where that are needed. But it is minimal and easy to remove. Yer my issue in the past has been the sun only slightly warping things then them not fitting together properly when I try to connect things. Usually a heat gun does the trick to make any new adjustments tho haha

Great work Seb, I really like your paint style as the wash brings it all together. I've found your videos really helpful as I'm looking to buy a 3D printer for printing Printable Scenery and its good to see what results you can achieve. How long does it take to print some of these models and do you have a specific setting that minimises the print layer lines anyhow much PLA rolls would it use? Looking forward to making these for D&D and Warhammer.
@SebMakesStuff
@SebMakesStuff 7 ай бұрын
I just use the basic settings, I'm sure I could.go a lot more in depth and get better results, but I havnt spent that long tweaking print settings. I'm my experience you can get any of the printable scenery build printed in one roll, and obviously less for smaller buildings. But this could also depend on the setting you use to slice them. Most slicing software will tell you the rough amount of fillament required per print once the model is slicedm so that's usually a good way to figure out roughly what you need.

Great video! They all look supercool! I got a question, I want to print one of the bigger buildings from Hagglethorn Hollow and was wondering if you painted your big models on a regular sized printer at 100 percent or if you printed bigger? I just got an Ender 3 V3 SE with a buildplate of 220 x 220 x 250 mm (8.6” x 8.6” x 9.84”). The Hagglethorn Hollow Buildings that Johnnys kickstarter pruduced and your big ones in this video seem to be larger. Maybe its just a pereptual error but they certainly do look larger than my buildplate. Are the stl files of these buildings printed at 100 percent the same size like the ones from the original kickstarter or do I have to print them larger then 100 percent to achieve this size? And if so, what exact size and how are these tiles split if I wanna do this cause my buildplate looks smaller? Thanks for your help, I really would like to replicate the size of the buildings in this video. I am very new to all of this, I just got my 3 d printer :) All the best Oliver

@SebMakesStuff 6 ай бұрын
Hey Oliver, I have the same printer, and when I did this build I was printing on the base model ender 3. All of the hagglethorn buildings and all of the other buildings I have from printable scenery come in sections that will print out just fine on your ender. Then they puzzle together. In my experience most terrain peices that are too big usually come with sliced up smaller segments so you can print them all at full size, but in sections that will fit on the average printer. These larger buildings are usually split down the middle. And split into each level. So one building can take 6-7 prints to get tall the parts. But they're designed to fit together in a way that doesn't leave big obviousl lines. You'll be able to print all of the printable scenery stuff just fine on the ender 3 se

@@SebMakesStuff Hi Seb, thanks so much for your answer! I ve got my first building from HtHollow, the tavern and started printing already :) The first layers looked great but It looks like I got some stringing going on, I used the Creality Print High Quality profile. I dont know if this is normal or expected to a certain degree :) let's see where this goes! Cannot wait to dive deeper into this and build a little Hagglethorn city and Gloaming swamps! Thanks again for the help and inspiration! Greetings Oliver
