Making a harness for a parrot

Buford and I show how we made his harness. We start by making an eye splice in a piece of 1/8" line - Dyneema, in this case. Then simply put the other end of the line through the eye t make a loop. Then put the line back up through the eye to make a second loop. Pass the end around the line that has the eye, then back through the eye to secure it.

Its not the harness really, the bird needs a slow introduction to a harness. Praise him when he's cooperative, I suggest you look up a vid of how to harness train your bird. For now, hang the harness in the bird's cage so that they can learn to not be scared of it. If the bird is too scared, keep it near the cage where it can see the harness and gradually place it closer and closer

I know this is super late but your bird and the metal ring around it’s foot, you could just get a leash with a small clip and clip it to the metal ring.

Please dont do this as it could literally snap the birds leg. This is only viable in raptor species like owls & birds of prey, not parrots!
