Making a Hurricane in Hurricane Helene

The power is out. The wind is threatening to knock over trees. Flood warning for the past 6 hours. So let make a cocktail! I'm not going to sleep tonight, so while watch the weather let's make a classic Hurricane cocktail. I'm going back to the original recipe for this one, because it's simple and there's no way I can go out for more ingredients.

The worst of the storm has passed us now. Flooding is always a concern with a creek and pond on our property. But other than one dead tree leaning towards the house we made it through safely.

It is! And so simple. I'm not sure why the recipe evolved into something with so many more ingredients, those are usually too sweet and a mess of different flavors.
