I have been a woodworker for 40 years and I thought this was going to be a sawmill, rough cut piece of furniture. Boy was I wrong. Beautiful work, great techniques, and man, do I love your shop!

That absolutely blew me away man. The equipment he has is pretty mind-blowing, but the expert use of them is what kept me saying, "wow man". The angles he set on his bandsaw but shimming up the plank. And all those amazing jigs he made and used. Got to be a genius to invent some of those jigs. Really great vid, and thank you for posting it.

Don't think Ive ever been so inspired! Im just a 45 year old poor man, half crippled up, I feel 100 years plus older than my real age. Ive always loved wood working, not bad at it either in my humble little shop, though certainly not to your skill. I think youre the richest man Ive ever seen! Your shop, tools, SKILL, wow! Thanks for inspiring me, sincerely. I suddenly don't feel like theres nothing left. Thank you.

Gotta love a wood-working badass with a little wooden dolphin sitting on his cutting board! ^_^ Also, loved the ultra-long of the workshop when he was turning on the lights. Those kinds of shots and thoughtful bits and pieces are what make the video great. It's funny, really, because what makes your dad's table so great is that same thoughtfulness and attention to detail.

you have done an awesome job on making me completely understand why it takes 6 to 8 weeks to get a custom piece of furniture made for our clients like the one we just had made with a bend.. it was so beautiful. I like to be well informed and experience in a large way many things i know. i have seen and now understand a lot of the basics and processes and the work it takes just from you and now i want to know way more. Thanks for your awesome demonstration of the craft!

Bravo! My son and I just watched with jaws dropped as Mr. Jarvi coerced that Wood Miser to do things even IT didn't know it could do. Clever fixtures and quite a dance routine worked-out to get everything in it's place on the "Rack". And I thought I had to work fast with Shaker oval boxes! That settles it, I'm watching it again!

I think I could gave framed an entire house in the time it took to make that one bench, just kidding. That was probably the coolest woodworking video I have ever seen from cutting own tree, milling the lumber, making crazy cuts, steaming, bending it with incredible jig, smoothing it, sanding, and final finishing. Amazing.

Just incredible, the mark of a master. I wish you well with all you do in the future. You guys are few and far between. I sure hope you get whatever you are asking, because those pieces are priceless. Who the hell are the naysayers, where do they buy their furniture "made in China" .I am 79 years old and just now how taken the time to smell the roses. Keep on keeping on my friend, the world is watching and enjoying.....Ken retired US Army/retired police and enjoying every minute, I don't answer to anyone's beckoned call.

Agreed: I tried to get lost in the genius of your dad making that bench. As a woodworker, myself (hack, really), I was ... quite simply ... moved. But I was "distracted" -- in the BEST possible way -- by the work YOU did in the production of this piece. I love my family, but ... if you guys are looking to adopt a full-grown male ... I'm sure it would eventually be a win-win situation ;-) Thanks for such an entertaining vid, and ... for showcasing a truly talented man !

In the old days, when we were much more ignorant about craftsmen, we said people either had brains or brawn. This guy has both in spades and a wonderful sense of beauty. Great video, 4,500 like 162 dislikes, which goes to show 1 in 28 people haven’t got a clue about great craftsmanship. Also a well filmed, edited video with some great music, it had me mesmerised all the way through.

MY MIND = OFFICIALLY BLOWN..! Absolutely awesome craftsmanship from a master woodworker... and the way the video was edited was also wicked... I was glued to the screen for the entire 15m 45s... The table made from a single piece of wood is a true work of art.. Amazing skills not often seen nowadays... Thanks so much for sharing with us... :)

Much respect, Mr. Jarvi. I did not grasp the cut at 6 minutes into the video. Humility. 12 hour days. Great editing. Awesome setup. Grunt work. Mastery beyond this video. I must have seen it 15 times to learn. My steam bent cradle vid is not edited yet, but I would welcome your input when it is. My name is Greg. I wish I met you as an apprentice. I am stressed when bending. You are so calm. You know what the wood will do. I am still guessing with kiln dried Cherry. You are an inspiration.

I watched this yesterday and today wanted to show this amazing video to my father, it has taken me 1 hour 37 minutes to find this after an exhausting and frustrating search on KZbin... yeeks.... I am looking for ideas to make a custom computer desk and although this does not suit my needs it is the best table making video I have seen on KZbin I think. Awesome timber knowledge, setup and skills.

Have watched multiple times. Love the workshop. But even more, I love all the features of that press frame. The 5 minute sprint to bend and clamp the hot wood would never work without the thoughtful features of that frame. Also, I appreciate the honesty about how long things take. When you include all the finishing it is a marathon. The result is worth it. Are any of those benches in museums yet? They should be.
