Beautiful art piece. I also love the sounds of you working with paper. No music, just the raw sound of paper, very much appreciated.

What a great way to spend a cold day - once again I really enjoy these quite videos! I have been looking into a Dragon book ( Dracopedia ) to try and do a drawing for a lady who is returning from a 3 week trip to South China; if one of your journals is available, she would love this journal. Hope Lucy is settling into the new apartment!

I’m always floored by your execution. Have you yet tried using this foil stamping machine to deboss/foil a book cover? In other words, binder board with cloth already glued on?
@bittermelonbindery7 ай бұрын
Yes I did a couple tests and it worked out great. I'll be sure to use it in a video in the near future.

I'm a bookbinder too. I'm not keen on adhesive binding methods, but this is well-crafted. I love making one-of-a-kind books that have a sculptural quality, objects meant for visceral play and exploration. 😊

Wow, 😮 Not an easy bind, you did that beautifully. Love the Xtool what a fab machine, so useful. Nice to see the gold lettering go on the inside too. Well done. 👏🏻 😊

How do I make one of these with the foil ? BTW Glorious Job keep it up? I don't have a book press And all the stuff needed. But i'm going to ask my mom if I can get a new book binding kit? Also how did you get the dragon cuts out for the book cover ?

This is a beautiful book! I am very curious, I didn't see a layer between the bookcloth and bookboard for when you went in with the xtool design. What was that process you were doing?
@bittermelonbindery7 ай бұрын
There's no layer, the design is directly applied with laser engraving. I hope I answered your question...
@mandarina_morada7 ай бұрын
This book is a masterpiece! What exactly did the laser do the cover fabric? cause the end result looks like a screen print? like ink or paint, it doesnt look burnt?
@bittermelonbindery7 ай бұрын
It’s laser engraved! So it precisely burns off a very shallow layer of the book cloth, without the burn marks.

how do you know how big to make the hinges for the board/hardcover? is it just double the thickness of the board as a gap between the front/back and spine?
