Because Gurkhas consider Kukris somewhat sacred and get somewhat pissed when non Gurkhas carry them?
@jamesellsworth96735 жыл бұрын
@@Lockpickingblacksmith Yes. The Kukris does have deep cultural significance. It really IS a violation for smiths from other cultures to make them. Since the Vietnam era, sale of authentic Kukris has been a source of income to their native makers. Appropriating the design for production runs deprives the true makers of much needed income. In this case of one-off, 'can we do it?' work, it serves as an homage to a great design and to a great People. It might really be public relations for the seeking out the originals.

'I just learned something, superglue is incredibly strong' *brushes his hair* I think that explains Alec's hairstyle.
@antibodyarmy4 жыл бұрын
fun fact, superglue tends to have a exothermic reaction to hair. I found that out when I cut off 17 inches of my hair and was making brushes from it. from my research it could be a similar situation to cotton, or it is the residual moisture that is in the hair(my locks were sitting for a few weeks and were dry cut so I don't think it was moisture).
@jadedelite3 жыл бұрын
@@antibodyarmy superglue goes exothermic with almost all organic material. It's a trip.
@GiraffeFlavored2 жыл бұрын
@@antibodyarmy Superglue produces an exothermic reaction whenever it dries (this can be seen and felt if you let a large amount of it dry) but it can also chemically bind with organic things like cotton, not just mechanically bond, which produces FAR more heat. You can literally see smoke when if you pour it onto a cotton ball, it's crazy. The King of Random channel has lots of videos on CA glue, but they've also done ones testing it's temperature in contact with different things, as well as videos testing different DIY instant setters, like the classic baking soda to see what else worked, it's super informative

I know I have pointed this out some time back but I will do so again. The shape of these blades is more accurately described as a Thai enep which is somewhat similar to the Kukri but distinctly different. While the Thai enep blade has a sweeping arc for the spine of the blade with the leading 2/3 of the much larger than the back 1/3 of the blade. (Exactly like the blade Alec is holding the intro to this video) The Kukri has a distinct angle about a third of the way up the spine and the front part of the blade is just slightly larger than the back part. The Thai enep is essentially a machete and works very well for that purpose. (hence the heavy front end of the blade) The Kukri was and still is used primarily for fighting, It has a notch near the hilt for the purpose of trapping the opponents blade and breaking it.
