The backyard patio needed an extension and that is what this video is about.
The deck is constructed by 2"8" both the load-bearing parts and the upper deck. That way I figured I would not need so many supporting beams and concrete footings on the ground. Not sure if that is the way to go. But this large deck is super sturdy. Oh, and the vertical pieces are just because I think it looks cool.
Yes it took a long time :D
Hope you like it :D

I love the fact that it looks like it took you the better part of a year to saw off those 2x8's

Of course you know what the rotational inertia is: the side-mounted 2x8s, with no support underneath, is awesome 😊😊👏👏

Finally someone builds layers of deck instead of one boring slab! Looks great, hope it lasts for decades because it’ll be wonderful to use summer after summer 🤟🏽

Your work is inspired. Your decking is unique. The vertical pieces are heavy on material but the return in terms of demonstrating a creative use of the materials is well worth it. The centre section is like a stage and from there you could invite bands and poets to perform for you. I wonder how many times did you have to recharge your impact driver? Thank you for making this video for us.

Really nice project! Those 2x8 boards will make it last forever! Doing multiple layers is way underrated. Big flat decks are super boring. I'm building a deck next week my self. I was recommended to use my palm router on all sharp edges to get a cleaner look and less tearing.

Cool, and thanks. I have faith in the longevity of this one. I did consider going over all the edge, but they where very Nice and rounded from the store. Thanks again and good luck on your deck
