If Sam Andrews wasn't making gun holsters, he would have a leather crafting show on PBS or a DIY television network. When his leather working days end, he could definitely make money as an announcer or voice performer. He has excellent camera presence and teaching skills.

The attention to detail Sam put into his leather work and his refusal to allow anything but the best to leave his shop, is why I continue to buy and use his gear after 30 plus years.

I ordered a car jacker holster from Andrews Custom Leather for my Glock and I love the holster. It is well made with high quality leather and heavy duty brass snaps and I wear it all the time. The way it sits, no one even knows I am carrying a weapon and I would highly reccommend anyone wanting a quality holster to purchase one from Andrews Custom Leather!

Sam should do a "Master class" on leather work... he just makes it look so effortless.... but that's what make him a master craftsman... The little I've tried looks like a kid's craft kit....

I tell him that every time we get together to do these videos, really some college or craft school out there should approach Sam to teach there...I'm honored he allows us to at least pass on his knowledge in this way...and I would say keep working on it Fog Horn you'll see in time your skills will kick up as well

MY father recently purchased an entire cache of leather working tools from an estate sale. The Leathersmith was 98 when he passed and had no kin to take his tools. My father purchased them for me because he thought it'd be something I'd like to try. He was correct. I quit my fulltime position as a screenwriter and Director of Visual Development for film and TV to pursue leatherworking fulltime. It's not a hobby. It's an obsession. Here's is why I'm posting: I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out why there was an old, nasty Levi pant leg in the bottom of the kit. Now I know why!! I'm glad I kept it because it works like nothing else for slicking! I imagine an olde timey Leathersmith ca 1870, using an old pair of discarded Levi mining overalls to slick the edges of a new rig for an Eastern Dandy, newly arrived in a town like Tombstone or Deadwood or Sweetwater, seeking his fortune in the new, wild Western frontier.

I’ve seen every video you’ve made with Sam. He is truly a master craftsmen. Was wondering, if you’re taking suggestions, do you think you could talk him into making a “how to” video on how to use exotic skin coverings. I’ve seen his crocodile and snake skin holsters and was hoping to see how he does those. Either way, great video as always.

I'm starting making belts to, and I hate when water slides on the body of the belt when I slick it ,like when it does in the video at 13:26 , because after I apply a finish coat of oil the spilled water just pops and doesn't look like a uniform coat. I can see that even after you buffed the strap with the denim you still have that spilled water mark. It's there a way to correct that problem, besides that I have to be more careful on how I apply water? Or I'm just warring to much about something that is normal? Ty, for the video, I've learned new things everyday so I can improve my crafting skills.

I use leather belts, I'm very very active and often find I stretch my belts and need to add holes. My father showed me a trick that his father showed him. Use a .22 casing and hammer it through, makes a perfect punch and perfect hole. How's that for Appalachian... Also, how many of y'all use them belts enough they actually stretch?

for sure I've stretched out other leather belts, I think quality of construction is a big part of that...I've had my two Andrews custom belts for about 6 years and Sam just checked them out to see how they were holding up and there were in pretty good shape, just needed some touch up on the finish around the edges
