Greetings from India! I have only recently started seeing your videos after I was presented with a leather work kit (as a gift). I am truly amazed not just by the skill, but with precision that you show and demonstrate EVERY time how things (every step) are done to perfection and class. Thank you for that. We could call you a "guru" for that. Also for for supporting that Black Lives Matter. For that matter to me, any and all lives matter, and the "war"should be against racism and "war" should be for peace! HELP EVER HURT NEVER!

People should start paying for quality and value for money... This is genuine luxury imo.. Handmade and 100% Full Grain Leather... What big brands like Gucci & LV throw at people nowadays is just fast fashion made with low quality raw materials and they barely last.

Weaver leather supply removed all the free patterns from their site. Is it possible for you to add the patterns that you posted there on your own site? And also update the descriptions of the videos that link to their site so your viewers know that its not them going crazy that they can't find the patterns?

Any tips for spotting high quality vs low quality leather goods ? In Italy there's tons of pop up shops that sell leather goods and I always wonder how good they truly are.

This is Weaver's Canyon Rose leather split down to 3oz (they will cut and split hides for you using their splitting service, you can even get one hide split to multiple weights in strips!) It's a really beautiful, underutilized hide in our opinion, and we also use Hermann Oak's bridle leather a lot doing the same thing. And of course, no thanks needed - we should have been vocal a long time ago and have plans forming to support more of this work long-term!

I'm newer to leatherwork. Why do you shave and scratch the back? I see some people do it and some not. Theoretically wouldn't it weaken the product?
@Corter4 жыл бұрын
nope It's just to rough up waxy leather so that the glue will stick better - you don't have to do it to all hides, we usually do it with hot stuffed and heavily oiled bridles, etc

Thank you eric. Means a lot to me that you are in support of the movement. 👏👏👏 i hope my son can stop living in fear every time he leaves the house. 400 years is more than enough torment on one group of people. Next we help my native indigenous family get justice and treated like human beings. So many have gone missing and nothing is being done about it. After that will be the Samoa natives in New Zealand, the aboriginal in Australia, the Africans in South Africa (oppressed for centuries under white south african rule) 😢😢😢😧😔

Dude I think you may have lost me with that black lives matter crap..I wouldn’t even go as far as saying all lives matter, as pedophile or rapists don’t count..but jeeeezus this is a leather channel..
@Corter4 жыл бұрын
This is a channel that supports any and all people having access to leather crafting information and the freedom to exist in a safe and loving environment to, amongst other things, practice their craft - a freedom that many black people do not have. If you don't agree with that we'd actually prefer you to leave, so this works out well.
