Beautiful work ... really like the idea of using wood as a structural element.

Great video + project. Your workspace looks efficient and laid out nicely. Many of us want to do big projects in small spaces so would love to see how you organized yourself.

So simple yet so effective. And great execution! I think I may steal this design but add some dividers and a wooden bottom so I can store my chisels!

Perhaps try adding some panel pins (with small washers?) or upholstery mails or brads, to give a steampunk look and combine with refurbished flea market/barn sale tools, for a steampunk or vintage feel?

Awesome project... Thinking about doing something similar for an Uno Card Deck and some regular playing cards... I have a few questions... 1) how had that glue held up... I've used it like that with out stitching in the past and it's come apart after a while... 2) What did you use on the leather after the dying was complete... I've tried a few things and haven't been happy with the results... 3) Any tips for building this different if you had to do it again...

really nice video I just wish you would explain a bit more the different steps you went through as I am candide in leatherwork (I mainly do wood stufs). I would love to learn a bit more on leather because it is so much fun to combine theses two materials :) You got a new suscriber ;)

I feel the same as Max; I also usually don't like hearing people talk; But your work is so good I"m actually wishing you would talk and share more about yourself and how you got started; Your work is so good its inspiring;

What did you use to secure the leather to the wood? Are those upholstery tacks?

that little workbench vise, how are you liking it and do you recommend it. I am tempted to get one and im just worried about all the sawdust being hard to clean. Its already annoying enough to clean after leather trimmings.
@bedroomworkshop25816 жыл бұрын
The vise is decent, it's not too hard to clean. However, it's hard to clamp the backside of the vise. I recommend using it on a corner of the table, this way it's possible to use more clamps to hold it down

quick, simple, beautiful Can you a bigger version of this case, I don't know it seems good to be if it's bigger
@bedroomworkshop25817 жыл бұрын
It's definitely possible to do a bigger version of this case, I think the leather and wood might need to be reinforced somehow for heavier things
@takiclintonharness40667 жыл бұрын
I can imagine a bigger version with a deep patina and distressed wood. I won't mind pairing it with a muddy boots, good luck.

It's a type of leather cement. You can buy it at Tandy leather, or if you have a leathershop near you. It's called Tanners Bond Contact Cement
