Man, I just love seeing that lathe. It’s in such amazing condition as you are very meticulous. And them super close up shots on the turning are the best I’ve seen. Very tight and clear, steady and smooth. Hat tip to you fine sir. Cheers.

Turned a lot of steel, cast, bronze, aluminium and alloys, but not much copper or brass. I can recall that the copper did contain either sulphur or zinc which improved the machinability. The brass we used was alloyed with lead to help machining. Nice hammers, I was surprised when I retired after a lifetime in engineering the amount of tools I collected. Travelling for work all over the UK, EU and the US, I did tend to pick up the odd tool or two. Nicely done hammers, should see you through to retirement.

Probably prehistoric man's very first ever tool, and still one of the most used tools today. However, how satisfying it is to use one's that looks as good as those, and you made them yourself. Nice work, Steveo👍🇦🇺

What no handleless knocker style 🤣 I do have a lump of Copper to make some new heads for one of the two I made at Tech School 40 odd years ago but a knocker seems like a good extra one to build 👍
