The tail wags the dog a bit when we don't get a clear view of knives because of the patreons. Good projects, it's nice they match the spice rack. I particularly liked the clever use of the leather. 👍

Whenever I watch an American woodworker on KZbin, they have $2000 table saws, CNC machines, and a shop bigger than my house... and it's discouraging. Whenever I watch a European or Asian woodworker on KZbin, they build just as cool projects and have the same tools I do. One is trying to sell a product, the other is encouraging their viewers. Thanks for the video.

Well matt what can I say when you make amazing stuff from the golden trio again (oak,brass and leather) I can do nothing but like and comment. Loved the hidden magnets in that knife holder and the kitchen roll holder was pretty straightforward but great design, well done 👏

Great projects, Matt. I'm very interested in that roll holder. We've just started getting bigger/thicker rolls and my last effort is too tight for them. I like your strap design as it can adjust to accomodate differing rolls. Cheers, I have no excuse now to prevent this job getting done.

"Because I'm worth it". Caught me by surprise. Made me laugh! Really like your paper towel holder. I am going to make it. Thanks! Would be nice to have that in the shop too to replace some rope and a piece of bamboo. I made myself a magnetic knife board a year or so ago. I drilled, deep holes in the back with a forstner bit and put round magnets in the holes which were lined up where the knives were to be. It worked okay, but I have one heavy knife that would have held better with your method. The heavy knife doesn't fall off, but it slides a wee bit and kinda scares me. I should add more magnets for that heavy knife. Appreciate how you incorporate leather from time-to-time. :)

Thank you very much. Im glad it made you laugh. I like the idea of having a towel holder in the workshop. I might have to make another one.

Great video. I didn't see you do it, but did you check that the magnets worked through the veneer before you glued it all together? I made a magnetic knife block a while ago and had to spend a while getting the veneer thin enough for the magnets to really hold the knife blade, especially on heavier knives.
@Badgerworkshop5 жыл бұрын
Yes i checked first

They look great Matt. One question: you do a fair amount of re-sawing on the table saw, do you leave the wood to settle between sawing and using? I don’t know if you’re supposed to, I’m just worried about it twisting/cupping after being re-sawn?
@Badgerworkshop5 жыл бұрын
I just use it strait away.
