I've been really liking it for medium size projects. I still think ACC+ or the newer Quick Cure will be my go to for large pieces, but you can't really beat the UV for a lot of things =D

Stupid question, but you're the alumilite expert - what speed do you use when turning? I've tried several setting, but I keep getting insane amounts of tear out!

It depends on the diameter of the piece I'm turning. For pens or other things with small diameter like that, I set the speed as fast as the lathe will go. Then I just adjust downward from there the larger the piece gets. If you're getting lots of chipout, I recommend trying the negative rake carbide cutters from Easy Wood Tools. Total Game changer! Hey Zac, Im abit late to the party but thought i'd comment here instead of on the video it was related to so you might actually see it. I am making my first HDPE mould, and the HDPE is shiny on one side and matt on the other side. Is there a preferred side to put on the inside? Thanks Max

What can I use to cast round castings? Will regular PCV pipe work or do I need silicone pipe?

Regular PVC works great 😀

You will probably want to use a mold release spray so that the casting comes out of the PVC pipe easily.

Great video! Just the right length and full of useful infor. Do you have a video on the threading process? Are you pushing on the tailstock as you rotate the spindle?

Thanks Jesse! 👊 I don't have a video on tapping threads, but it's pretty simple. Light pressure on the tailstock and just turn the handwheel about three turns forward, then a couple back until it reaches the bottom
