It was very helpful to me, by answering this question. I coated the inside of my motorcycle gas tank with epoxy about 18 years ago, and it eventually peeled off into various large pieces. I'm of course having a lot of trouble getting them out... and I wondered what might dissolve it. I hear that acetone would... well, after a month it only softened it? Nope that won't work for me. You save me a lot of time and cost here. Thanks..

6:10 , when you said you have your pressure set to 70psi, you may have meant to say 60psi.... because thats what your tank max is listed at. when talking of safety restrictions, im sure you meant 60psi. other than that, excellent well explained video. thanks!

👀👀👀👀👀👀 ok I love that blue, what pigment did you use?
@ZacHiggins12 күн бұрын
That was one I concocted by mixing different colors together actually. I was trying to get close to a specific color that one of the chatters picked, but I didn't have that specific mica on hand. I forget which ones I mixed, but I showed it in the livestream

how are people getting that cosmic blue ocean effect with white and light blue swurls in it? (river pour) is there a single powder you add that comes out that way ? or do you add a white powder and a blue powder into the resin at the same time ? if so how come it doesn't just become a light blue? the colours stay separated somehow ?

Hi, Zac. I got this exact set up a while ago. I’ve attempted multiple times to create the product that I want to sell but I keep getting bubbles in the final result. I’m getting a bit frustrated and would like some guidance please.

Hey Zac, I missed the live. But the blanks turned out great. I was thinking about your dirty pour 3 section cup and getting more volume from the middle section. What if you put a piece in each section that has the same size opening (hole) so the volume is controlled for each section. This would need to be behind the pouring neck. Just a thought. Might be hard to do.
@ZacHiggins19 күн бұрын
That's a great idea Mike. I was thinking about trying to design my own cup and trying to get equal sections in it, but your idea might be even easier and may possibly work better. I'll have to try it out sometime and see how it goes

Great tips as always Zac. I have a find those plugs. I always try to fill those gaps very carefully and if some CA glue drips down the tube, what a pain it is to clean it out. Also, I never thought about adding the thin glue inside the blank. Thanks.

Great show Zac. I had just watched a channel that showed mixing the mica in the A part first. I was hoping to ask you about it, but you covered it first. Thanks again. I’m new to casting, haven’t started yet, just watching and growing my knowledge. I have you ebook, great for the beginner.
@ZacHiggins26 күн бұрын
Hey Mike, glad that we mentioned the mica in Part A on the show. It's not a terrible thing to do, but I always prefer to minimize the possible reasons for problems. The less things that can cause an issue, the easier it is to diagnose a problem if it occurs. Glad to hear you're diving into casting, and really happy to hear that the Beginner's Guide is helpful for you. I can't wait to see some castings when you get rolling 😀

Can you cast things like paper, air dried clay or things with acrylic paint which prone to being damaged by water and other liquids? Sorry if it's a stupid question. I just want to preserve certain items and I'm hoping there's a way to keep them from being damaged by the resin itself since it is a liquid substance. 😅

I was looking for away to remove JB weld from metal. I discovered your beard maintenance is excellent. And that acetone will probably soften epoxy...
