I love this! We just had a 12x30 upper deck built and now I want to do some of these ideas for underneath since there is a huge open space now, Great for a brick patio!! Good job!

Do you think you could use the planters for a retractable canopy?

Have a quick question about the 4x4s. Do you think they will start bowing being out in the weather? How long do you think they will last?
@TysonMooreBuilds

Hey Christian! It has been about 3 months now and the 4x4's are still going strong!

That looks cool. Did you screw anything through the brackets on those 4x4s or were they just for stability?
@TysonMooreBuilds

Good eye! My original idea was that I was going to acres it into the bottom of the planter, but that 4x4 post was so heavy I doubt it would have held. So I just left them on and used them for just stability

Great job on this!! I want to do this, what type of wood post did you use? Thanks for sharing!

Hey Ryan! Thanks so much for taking the time to watch. I used a pressure-treated 4x4 post for the planter! It may not last forever, but my ultimate goal will be to build a pergola back here one day so this works for now!

@@TysonMooreBuilds Burning it not only makes it look awesome, it also adds life to the posts!

@@Cragun. that’s what we accidentally discovered! I originally was burning it away from the post just to dry it out some before we stained it but then as I got too close and the grain started to burn I was like “woah! That is going to look awesome!” Haha

@@TysonMooreBuilds how tall are the posts? Green treated? Thanks! Doing the planters around our pool...going to look awesome!!
@TysonMooreBuilds
@TysonMooreBuilds 3 жыл бұрын
@@stacyshiffer2941 That is awesome! Yes, these were pressure-treated 4x4's and were 8 feet tall. They are plenty tall because they are in planters and not set in the ground. They say it is not a good practice to stain posts right away because of the chemicals they used to treat it, but we used a blow torch to help dry out the wood enough for us to stain

How much would you say this project cost you, without the furniture included?
@TysonMooreBuilds
@TysonMooreBuilds 3 жыл бұрын
That’s a great question. It all depends on the size of patio you are making. For us we chose a large space 14’x24’ so it was 3 pallets of bricks. It was almost $1k in bricks and about $300 for all the sand and crusher run from a local supply place, and around $100 for the polymeric sand. So maybe around 1,500
