Making a plywood Kayak - ベニア板からカヤックを作る -

Hi! I live on an island in the south of Japan.
Ishigaki Island has a very beautiful sea!
Introducing my self-built kayak.
It is a kayak made of materials that can be bought at the Home center. It's cheaper than buying a plastic ship and you can kayak to fit your size.

石垣島で物作りを楽しんでいます。
今回はベニア板からカヤックを作ってみました！石垣島の海をもっと楽しみたい。けれど、プラスチックの船を買うだけでは嫌だな、、、と思い、木造艇を制作してみました。結果、時間はかかりますがプラスチック製より安く、軽く、自分に合ったサイズ（軽トラに載せれる設計）で作ることができました。薄いベニア板でも、モノコック構造にすれば強く波をこえられる船を作ることができます！是非参考にしてみてください☆

You really need a mask with a sufficient filter, and good gloves! and eyeprotection! for working with this epoxy/glassfiber! Longer exposure to this can give you chronic skin problems! i was in school learning how to do this, the same place where they prepared people to make windmeals for fx Westas!

メイクマンの2.5mmベニアで作りましたよ！基本的には石垣のホームセンターで一般的に手に入るもので制作しています。ガラスクロスはキダ紹介さんのプロコーナー奥にあります。島で手に入らないものはエポキシ樹脂です。

私も、１５年ぐらい前に、防水ベニヤ板３ｍｍぐらいの厚み？で作りまうした。今ほどKZbinに資料が少なくて、チェサピークの本を図書館で借りて、ごく小さな絵を参考にした程度です。都内のホームセンターで３枚購入。スカーフ削り出して、見様見真似で接着剤でまとめました（笑）最近、解体するまで、接着は完璧に接着してくれてました。水漏れもなく、遊べました。９ｋｇ、３．２ｍ長でした。自作艇はとても面白く学習効果も高い 改善したかったのは、前後２分割にしたら、小さな車にも収納して行けたはず、そんなに強度なくても静水用なら作れます。ベニヤ板と接着剤で２万円ほどでした。富士五湖、日光などで漕いで気持ち良く進みました。

Thanks for your comment! A patch-and-glue boat does not require a detailed plan. Once the length and width of the ship are determined, the dimensions are determined from the naturally formed curves. I decided the size of the boat to be legal enough for a car and then started!

Thanks for your comment! Dimensions are in the video.However, this manufacturing method does not require detailed drawings. That's because the side plates are made with natural curves. If you decide the total length when you start, you can make it using the natural curve.

べニアにしろスキンカヤックにしろ、最後は、FRP加工なので、工房がないと無理かな・・・、においが・・・。

FRPより価格が高いですがカヌーやカヤック作る時はエポキシがいいと思いますよ。匂いもほぼないです。紫外線耐性や硬度もFRPより優れてると思います。
