Recently discovered my knock-off Strat is made out of plywood and oh boy did they fuck up the routing.. They appearantly tried to do the classic three single coil routs but visibly messed up and turned it into a swimming pool one. From what I can gather (this build is an exception due to the bridge pickup used) plywood reduces the “spanky” quality of a traditional tele sound. I’m not a huge fan of spank, but I do love a twangy tele with a low output pickup and I think plywood might be a great alternative if your looking for less pick attack from a tele.
@mcclane120002 жыл бұрын
You could be right there, I installed a coil split switch which does give a twangy tone but I really don't know too much about the physical factors that influence how things sound. I'm just happy it made any noise full stop!
