Thank you! I enjoy your videos so much. I will try your handle method. I usually pull handles, but I hate to do them. I appreciate you sharing your process and tips!

I enjoy watching your videos. Thank you. One idea - make a PEI Girl patch and bisque it. Then press clay in and fire that to make a custom stamp. It should speed up your mug making process to have a bisque stamp that says PEI GIRL

Thanks for the tip on how to soften clay I've had the same thing from pottery supply house
@finklepottery704 Жыл бұрын
You are welcome. It works great. Just start with a small amount of water. I added too much my first bag lol. I would start with about 4-6 oz and add more if needed

@@finklepottery704 I have a question for how do you wash your pottery clothes rags etc. I usually pre rinse in a bucket then wash in the machine. Not sure if a little on your clothes would create problem for the drain. If it's saturated in clay I presoak.
@finklepottery704 Жыл бұрын
I know I struggle with that too. In the summer it’s much easier. I lay clothes and rags on the lawn, and really give them a good spray with the hose before I wash. I Pre soak in the winter.

@@finklepottery704 ok thank you so I'll keep just doing that it works for me.

This is exactly how I make my handles!! I’ve never seen anyone do it like this before! I love the detail that the rod makes! I have done 2 small dowel rods together as well. Awesome tutorial!!

Thanks Michele. I like the two rod idea! I’ll give it a try 😊

I too am left handed but it's a struggle. And yes definitely have to trim left! Question. When you apply the emblem do you make it quite thin and fresh clay? When I make my state mugs they want to mishap the mug. I slow dry also but hand build.
@finklepottery704 Жыл бұрын
I find making them quite thin helps with not pulling the mug out of round. I tend to use clay when it’s fresh with corn starch. When they are thin if you let them set up too much they crack easily
