Making a Pretty Soap with Soap Piping | March 2024 Soap of the Month

I absolutely love how this soap turned out! I was so inspired by Mandy @sweethomesoaps4811 with one of her Instagram photos last year and have wanted to try something like that soap for a long time. If you have not followed her on IG yet, def go do that - her soaps are so beautiful and her product photography is top notch!
This Fragrance from @micasandmore is one of my favorites and def one of my customers favorites as well. Now that I know it has a higher usage rate I am going to make a bigger batch for my Mother's Day Gift Sets that I am hoping to put together!

Wrap your silicon molds with plastic wrap. I then pop it in the oven to CPOP and it usually does the trick.. Most times I forget to spray with rubbing alcohol and seems to be just fine..

I really like the delicate piping! It does look elegant❤ and did you try steaming or washing the soda ash off? I would think using heat would help but you said you did that. So no ideas. But hope you have a great week!

Hi Melissa! you know I didn't steam them, although for the little hearts it was too far gone for that. I was thinking I should have steamed the top of the main soap though. I tend to think of that too late LOL I hope you have a great week too!🤗💞

Brambleberry has a how-to article on "Explaining and Preventing Soda Ash" on their website. I read stuff I hadn't heard about doing before, especially the beeswax and old nylons suggestions 😂 I'm tempted to make soap in silicone molds just to try the suggestions.

I just use isopropyl alcohol and cover overnight… then I steam them.

@MsAubrey the problem she has is not on the surface, though. She's mentioned this in other videos. The ash is going clear through the soap. The article talks about adding melted beeswax at light trace to act as a barrier to the salt acting with the air to make the ash. You also have to soap at higher Temps, too.

Hey Wendy - I haven't seen that article but the whole nylons suggestion is making me want to go search it out 😂. I had not heard that about beeswax before - that is something to think about. At least if I am trying to use tiny molds...thanks so much! 😍💖

Hi Aubrey - you know I stopped spraying with alcohol a couple of years ago. I never really found it made a difference. Maybe I should start again. I also think I am going to lower my water amount a bit...maybe LOL

hi AnnMarie! I wrap with biofilm from the national shrink wrap system. I then create my labels in Canva, print in Maestro (online labels) . Let me know if you want to see all that in action! 🤗💞

I would search out a soap made with charcoal, that is good for people with acne or oily skin I don't currently sell soap for the face - I only make/sell a face wash that is not soap.
