Tammy if you slowly melt your goat milk while frozen with your lye water and keep it cool it won't burn as much and be less yellow.

Store your lard in a bucket or container with hard side. Lard has a tendency to stay to stay softer. It will smell slightly ham or bacon. It does go away.❤ this recipe.

sugars speed trace. the more u use the quicker it gets thicker. even just adding GM, those sugars will increase trace. i like whatever is cheaper to produce best....provided the change in ingredients appears to make little difference in the end.....keep it inexpensive :)

i use tallow, lard, coconut oil, castor oil, shea butter and GM. its been my go to base recipe for months. i use same recipe for irish sea moss gel unscented soap, i just replace GM with sea moss. no smell and beautiful white.

I’ve not had an issue with tallow accelerating my batter, but I soap at about 100°F so I don’t get false trace. Final product won’t have scent. And Soaper’s Choice has lard and tallow for CHEAP! I buy in the 30 lb. cubes.

This is a fantastic recipe! I personally love it. I have done a tallow, lard, castor, and goat milk.

Also car freshies produces better fragrance in the summer time. Winter time not so much. They are a heat-activated item.

I have made car freshies for a long time. It's a 4:1 ratio. Four oz. beads to 1 oz. fragrance oil, so 8 oz. is 2 oz. fragrance oil. You can get about 3-4 freshies from 8 oz. of beads. Black Ice is one of my biggest sellers for men.

Pretty soap, Tammy. Like you, I dislike doing the math for cutting odd soaps. I got an expanding sewing gauge from a fabric store. It's for spacing buttons and buttonholes evenly. I think it cost about $9.00. It unfolds in even increments, so I can just mark the cuts at the tips of the gauge. For me, it doesn't really matter how big the bars are because they are all exactly the same size once I measure them out with the sewing gauge.

This was such a fun soap to make and I really think I am going to be making many more batches - I may still tweak the recipe though, even with the stick blending this time was too much I still think it is moving too quickly. I will be dropping sugar from future batches that have goat milk in them as well as this is probably overkill on the sugar front (goat milk naturally has sugar in it)

It's risky to not file. It's been stopped by the Eastern Texas District Court, BUT the feds will take it to the Supreme Court next year, and the deadline is December of this year. You may run into a situation where the federal government may win the case and the deadline will already be past and you may be on the hook for NOT filing by the deadline. Sure, you can try to risk it, but the SC may rule that District Court has no jurisdiction.

Yup, I had to do that when I started my business (Possumcat Studios) earlier this year. You would think they would have sent out notices to all existing businesses about this.

I sent an email about it to the president of the Soap Guild and Making Soap Magazine in March and asked why no one was talking about it and got brushed off.
