The prongs have been laser welded on to the basket before the final solder. This method is used by some to tack the prongs into place temporarily.

Interesting working process, the ring is simple but came out beautiful.What tools do you use in cutting the prong and pushing them to hold the stone? What engraver tool did you use in the last part of the video?
