Have you made a quilt with lots of negative space? How did you find the process?
@susanrascone2098Күн бұрын
I made your improve quilt along, solid grey with pops of brights. I did not like the negative grey nor the improv method. But I finished it and donated it. Happy New Year from C C C Cold and snowy Ontario.

@susanrascone2098 sorry you didn’t enjoy it! I suppose we don’t know if we don’t try. Good for you for getting it finished and donated.

@@ScrapFabricLove I have NOT made a quilt with lots of negative space and wouldn’t have thought I’d like it … BUT I love what you did with Dan’s quilt!! Love the colors … I think it was the grey linen 🥰 absolutely beautiful ! You’re a scrappy genius 🥳

Gorgeous!! I love linen, and apparently using linen and 100% cotton is healing, with good vibrations.

Amazing thought process! Imagine asking for details from the person it goes to.... like they'd have any idea at all. Their magic word is "quilt"... thing on the bed...warm...the rest is huge blank.
@ScrapFabricLove14 сағат бұрын
I like to ask at least if they want more modern or traditional and if they get interested at that point I keep asking more questions. Dan had some definite ideas!

Your casualness of making a quilt is very helpful. I have been intimidated to start because I know my points will never match 😊

There are so many different types of quilts out there - not all of them have points to match. I find it fun to experiment with different types of quilts - maybe you would too!

@@AntisocialAuntie … but it gets easier and you get better with each one ! And you can be amazed how points will match !!! Don’t be intimidated!!! I am relatively new to the quilting craft and am amazed at the progression 🙌. I find by using beautiful fabrics… it’s all good!

@reaanneservia3866 Thank you for that! I keep telling myself this will be like knitting and each little step is fairly simple, just practice, but my brain is stubborn sometimes and refuses to listen to my own logic! Your words are calming though, and I truly appreciate it 🧡

Thanks! If I sit around thinking about it too much it just gets less clear for me - so starting usually helps my thought process….but different folk have different processes that work for them. You just have to find the one that works for you.
