Your video popped up after watching Emma (from the UK) show lots of QAYG starts that people sent in to her. I’ve watched hers from a long time ago after seeing Susanna from Vintage Blend Studio show what she had started with hers. I’m kind of doing a QAYG hexie quilt but it’s the same each side. Hard to explain and painful to make but I had a bright idea and now pick it up every so often when I have a lot of hexies that I’ve made out of scraps. I’m going to go and watch your update video now to see how far you’re along. I hope you’re still addicted to stitching.

@@karen1351 yes, I am still stitching. I have finished my hexi quilt and my little grand daughter took it home some weeks ago. I will have it back this week to put a label on it and show the final quilt. I wish I could see yours, I am in the stages of hand quilting another quilt for a dear friend and hope to she that very soon. Sometimes you need a little break so you don’t fall out f love with your needle work. Take care.

Im so glad your video showed up in my suggested videos. I love your thought on scrappy quilts as I love to upcycle. I've made alot of necktie rugs for that reason, Polyester does not go away. I also love the fact that you have been teaching your Granddaughters this art.I am recuperating from several strokes so yes I need a hand sewing project. I have subscribed so keep the videos coming. ✌🏻♥️ EDIT: I forgot to mention that Kate, from The Last Homely House puts beeswax on her cotton thread. Also your ring is absolutely beautiful. ❤

@@diannenaworensky6698 best wishes for your recovery, I also follow Kate and do run my quilting thread( not stitching thread) through beeswax. Love necktie quilts, have always wanted to make one, you are inspiring me.

Very interesting video , I have thought as an EPP sewer to try this method , saving a lot on long arm quilting as well, as looking very different . Great your granddaughters has an interest , something I feel is so important as she grows , to enable her to enjoy a Lovely hobby . Hope you both enjoy . . I pop wadding in my pieces of hexie rather cardstock and they then don’t need to be removed and saves the wadding part of the final sandwich .

@@karentoynton8948 great tip! Thanks, my grand daughters are very interested in following on with the sewing and quilting. We were able to obtain a sewing kit that with help my 4 year old gd was able to do. So much for her, she made a felt unicorn with a flexi plastic needle.

How. Ice , and something constructive for children to be able to get involved with , rather than everything being around computers . Plus the most important part is , as your granddaughter becomes older , she will be able to look back as see her interest as something her grandma /Nan ? Taught her . Our granddaughter is 21 ,and at uni , you would be surprised how many times she will say to us , when we tell her how well she has done , well you and grandad taught me to do that . Just little bits mean a lot . Keep the interest up .

Thank you , same applies to yourself , we have three grown up grandsons as well, two of their have their own business , but the boys didn’t have things that they got involved with. In the same way . But we are very very proud of them all. Enjoy your sewing .

Daisy and Grace do the templates for this method as a nesting set allowing you to place wadding and top fabric accurately without drawing lines.

@@karensibley2485 yes , I saw that.I didn’t mind drawing sound the shape, I wanted to show how. it would look if you only cut out a Hexi from card.
