Great video mate. Fogging systems can be very helpful in helping to maintain a higher humidity in your vivarium. But just as a word of caution to those out there interested in having one too - Don't use it as the only way of raising humidity. I use mine in conjunction with a automated water spraying system, hand spraying and having the vivarium heavily planted. For temporary moments you can fill the enclosure with fog (a form of enrichment for my monitors, they get really active and curious when it happens), but its not something that should be happening daily or for long lengths of time. I see a lot of photos and video online of people filling up their vivariums to the point that you can't see anything in there, which I don't think is a good idea. I run mine pretty much on the lowest flow setting (on a timer) in a very big enclosure to just help raise that relative humidity. Hope you don't mind me chiming in here Coop! You seem to be doing things correctly, just thought this was worth mentioning here for your viewers. Oh and ficus benjamina is a safe bet! It's one of the only plants that have survived my tree monitors who seem to be on a daily bulldozing expedition in their home.
@coopsreptiles25884 жыл бұрын
Spectrum Vivaria yes I absolutely agree! I only use the fogger during the night really (using the method chameleon academy talks about with natural hydration) and I’m still experimenting with it like I said in the video. Too many people over use them just for the look. Just watched your humidifier video I was literally about to make the same one as I did almost the same thing with this a few weeks back haha! Thanks for the input anyway dude always keen to share knowledge!
@SpectrumVivaria4 жыл бұрын
@@coopsreptiles2588 Seems like a good approach to use for boydii. I've learnt that It does take a lot of tweaking and experimentation with humidity because one method is not necessarily going to work for everybody. So many variables with the amount of ventilation in the enclosure, temperatures needed for the species, where you are located geographically and more.. You should still make that video if you have filmed it btw! Always good to see different approaches/methods, especially if you have a different style of humidifier then what I converted.

Do you have a mist maker in the enclosure
@coopsreptiles25884 жыл бұрын
hkthebest 59 no I just just a hand sprayer as shown in the video
